Elections have consequences. This idiot inherited his wealth. I wonder if the companies founder would have supported Obama? The founder is probably rolling in his/her grave.

Maybe they can apply to teach math. Mr. Obama said he is going to hire 10,000 new math teachers and this will off set this massive layoff.

".. job cuts in anticipation of coming costs associated with ObamaCare, even though the man who inherited a fortune from the company's founder is a fan."
So, these people were hoping for an obama victory so they could fire people??

With people over 80 not qualifying for such devices because of the patient’s limited “shelf life,” these companies won’t be doing so well anyway. Big pharma will also see their markets shrink as expensive brand-name prescriptions will be rationed.
There is no way that 30 million uninsured can get health care without restricting services to those that are currently costing Medicare too much.

Jon Stryker is a tool and needs to study his history and economics before making anymore “contributions”.
In the meantime, I suggest ALL Freepers ask a business who they voted for before buying their services. My tally so fay:
1- My favorite coffee shop voted Romney. I buy coffee
2- A local pizza place voted Obama. No more of their pizza
3- My dry cleaners voted Obama. They won’t get my shirts anymore
I always ask up front, “who did the owner/manager vote for”.

If you've ever been to a hospital...the Stryker name is on a lot of the equipment. Wonder what happens to their warranties on all this stuff?

My message to the idiot American electorate is: “As layoffs surge into the hundreds of thousands.. no bitching!
Remember... YOU wanted this!”

Just like the progeny of so many founders of great corporations, he’s wracked with guilt over money he did not earn. He assuages his guilt by support radical democrats. History is full of communists whose incredibly successful and entrepreneurial parents and grandparents made the family fortune.
The very sad thing is he’s got his enormous pile of cash and his poor employees are suffering for his folly.

What baffles me is how Minnesota—with at least three Medical Device companies headquartered here—can vote Obama? Same with the people I work with in healthcare marketing— who are all Obama voters. I basically told them that to vote for Obama is to vote themselves out of a job. They could NOT figure that part out. I told them that marketing/communications is the first thing that gets cut when healthcare companies look to reduce the cost of doing business. The v.p. of one of the companies I work with sent out a very subtle e-mail the night before the election to all the marketing communications people saying next year we are cutting budgets and people. However, the group voted en masse for the ONE.
What is it about people in Minnesota? All the 3M retirees who lost their health care benefits due to Obama care and they not only voted for Obama AGAIN, but also re elected Betty McCollum—the biggest Obama care supporter.

Stryker will cut 1,170 jobs, or five percent of its worldwide workforce, despite the fact that the founder's grandson was one of the largest contributors to President Obamas re-election campaign.
This is proof that just because you're rich you can still be stupid!!
