Romney Adviser: We Lost Because Far Right Has Taken Party to Place It Doesn’t Belong
Gateway Pundit ^ | November 18, 2012 | Jim Hoft

Carlos Gutierrez, adviser to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, said Sunday he was “shocked” by Romney’s comments this week on minorities.
“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong.”

Ugh.

CNN reported:

In an interview set to air in full Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley, Gutierrez also sharply criticized Romney’s remarks made on a call Wednesday with donors following his loss in last week’s election. Romney explained his loss in part by pointing to “gifts” President Barack Obama gave to certain groups that turned out in high numbers.

Gutierrez, the former secretary of commerce, said he was “shocked” by Romney’s comments.

“I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesn’t belong,” he said. “We are the party of prosperity, of growth, of tolerance. I mean these immigrants who come across and what they do wrong is they risk their lives, they come here and they work because they want to be part of the American Dream.”

What an idiot. They lost because Mittens is an Etch A Sketch with no fixed principles — perfect for the Republican Establishment. Their only principle is to have no principles.

In 2008, they ran a squishy Establishment guy and lost.

In 2010, they ran nationally as conservatives and picked up 700 seats.

So what did the GOP do for 2012? Why, found the squishiest, most RINO Establishment candidate they could, of course. Then blame the conservatives for the loss. Brilliant!

The basic premise of the two-party system is that the parties offer meaningful alternative policies. When the y try to blur those differences, the Democrats usually win and the public is disserved.

Get the Establishment RINOs out of the GOP or the GOP must stand aside.

Does anyone else see the irony of Candy “Candy-bar” Crowley interviewing him?

Is it true that she's called "Candy" because that's all she eats?

Tell that to the 5,000 people showing up in rural towns in Ohio, where McCain got a few hundred to show up.

The democrats had 200,000 precinct workers targeting low info voters since they got clobbered in 2010. They weren't going to let that happen again. The Republicans had maybe 25,000 precinct workers. With a 10 to 1 advantage in workers and a year and half head start...who do you think is going to win? Of course the democrats can fund this huge army without them being on the payroll' 'cuz they're mostly public employee union workers.

Who are the REAL extremists???

Part of the problem with conservative, evangelical Christians (sorry for being so explicit, but none of these words, by themselves, means much anymore) is that we let the left frame the dialogue.

The political stance of our Founders served this country well for nearly 200 years. It was only when we started allowing the Bible and 10 Commandments to be removed from our schools and public places that we began hearing how extreme we who continue to hold those values are.

But, just think about it - Thomas Jefferson and James Madison formed the Democratic-Republican Party, espousing beliefs in states’ rights and strict adherence to the Constitution. The Party eventually split, with the anti-slavery members becoming the Republican Party, and the pro-slavery ones becoming the Democratic Party, led by such as Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren.

In the 1930’s, the Democratic Party began to promote a social liberal and “progressive” platform. Compared to even its founders, let alone our country’s founders or the early Republican Party, today’s Democratic Party is far more socialist/leftist.

So, who are the REAL extremists - those who are closest to the values of our Founders and even the founders of the Democratic Party, or those who promote socialism and “progressive” ideals, and call us extremists???

Furthermore, the problem with moderates is that, the more the left veers left, the further left moderation becomes. Is it any wonder, then, that the more leftists swing left, the more they say the right should become moderate. The result is that the moderates of today were yesterday’s left.

It’s time we began to expose who the extremists REALLY are!!!

If we could have had the Primaries changed to “Red States Vote First” we might actually have ended up with a Conservative ...

Too Late now

One way or another before the next Presidential Election we will know if we are to be a 3rd World Socialist Country or The USA... (actually within about 2 years)

We lost because the Republican party did not stick to it’s principles and stay conservative. What they gave us to vote for was a white version of Obama with his health care package and all, so why change? If the Republicans want to win, they will have to start sticking to their roots, like they did when Reagan was running. Give us a conservative and watch what happens.

So he thinks we are not tolerate enough of illegal immigration...

I suppose that is one hypothesis, But it does not seem to add up with the polls on the issue of illegal immigration.

God does not reward salvation to the idle. While our fight for the union maybe coming to an end, our fight for our own freedom has just begin.

PS: This guy who created a republican super-pack to push for illegal immigration:

http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/BNSTAFF-BNTEAMS-CAMPFIN-CNG/2012/11/16/id/464515

I’m not sure how these guys expect opening our borders wide open to folks with no respect for our laws(as demonstrated by their disregard) or and mealy an overwhelming desire for the fruits of our diminishing economic liberty will help conservatives win elections.

If you ask me by historic example(when they did this in the 80s) and by logical deduction, its just more maggots to feed upon the carcass of American liberty. The end result being a significantly weaken not improved position.

But i suppose at this point it really doesn’t matter. unless someone kills the charismatic man able to make school children openly speak of a desire for his dictatorship. The U.S.A. ain’t going to survive as a free country anyway.

So they might as well shoot us and put us out of our misery. Those that wish to survive will create their own country in which they will either abolish publicly funded education, or radically reform it as to remove all the leftist propaganda our poor kids are being given instead of a practical education.

Is the RNC just a front for appearing to run elections at various levels but just pass out goodies in the house and senate? Does anyone know what I’m saying? I mean, gee whiz...McCain threw the election.

Let's pretend that everything you wrote was entirely true. I argue that nationwide, in many states, RINOmney's lame message - in a contest he should have easily won. He joins Dewey, Bush I, Dole, and McLame in the GOPe Hall of Losers.

Romney left your party and would not return until after Reagan and his veep, which became president, were out of office.

Romney rejoined the GOP in October of 1993 and quit supporting, fundraising and voting as a democrat, but he did still fundraise for Planned Parenthood, and supporting homosexualizing the military and the Boy Scouts.

The abortion issue destroyed the GOP’s chances for 2012. It played right into the Donks’ “war on women” routine.

No one had the stones to mention the real 'war on women' has slaughtered 25 million of them before they even saw daylight.
