He was an adviser to Romney and they dumped conservatives and Tea Party due to their being “right” rather than middle or left. They thought they could win without the base that irritated them. That is exactly what Romney thought and carried out at the national convention and immediately the conservative base leaders across the nation dumped him.

This isn't over - the GOP elites do not want conservatives/Tea Party in “their” party. They have kicked out God and conservative values and that's the base.

The elites including the national party board members want an “electable” candidate next time (again) and that will be someone who welcomes illegal aliens and agrees to give "compassionate" money to any who don't want to work, able bodied or not. They think that gives them the Hispanic vote and welfare voters. Naturally, that candidate won't win, either.

Gutierrez is a businessman they brought on board to do "Hispanic outreach." Clearly he didn't do a very good job. Maybe he's trying to cover for his own poor performance. We don't know if he was much of an adviser to Romney or just some outsider they brought in to work with Latino groups and make the appeal to Hispanics.
