President Obama on Sunday defended his trip to Burma, insisting that the visit Monday is “not an endorsement” of the nation’s long-repressive leadership but rather an acknowledgment that the country is making progress toward reform.
“I don’t think anybody is under any illusion that Burma has arrived, that they’re where they need to be,” Obama said at a joint news conference with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to begin his three-country Asia trip.
President Obama arrived in Thailand on Sunday on his first foreign trip since winning a second term. His visit is designed to expand the U.S. economic and military footprint in the Asia-Pacific region. 0.

I suspect that “O” will do a lot of traveling now that he is ‘re elected’.
He needs to personally consolidate the Communist end-run on American liberty and sovereignty!
He’ll be meeting with all his anti-American buddies, either publicly or otherwise, while he is on these taxpayer paid junkets to visit with our enemies! It’s much easier to accomplish this subterfuge out of the limelight of DC... and after ALL, Americans really aren’t smart enough to see that his schmoozing with our enemies is his wider and intensified agenda, when it is fronted off as ‘Presidential travel’.
What the h^%$ business does this clown have in THAT part of the world NOW? Is THAT what matters in THIS political and economic environment, NOW?
Our situation is more perilous and fragile now that it has been for decades and HE needs to travel THERE? The ME is about to incinerate itself and everything else along with it, our economy is lame, our E coast is still reeling from a storm, the jobless rate is escalating… WTF!!!???

Why do I get the image of the Obamas sitting around at the end of the day saying, “Ok, where have we NOT been in the world? Will they love us there?”
Obama probably took some advice from the Clintons to bail out of Washington for awhile to let things die down a bit.
Personally I wish Obama would leave America permanently, I hope he falls in love with one of the Thai shemales or something.
There is an old saying and it still applies, “When the cat is away the mice will play”.
There is a “gold rush” going on in Myanmar right now. There aren’t a whole lot of Last Frontiers out there, and every multinational in the world is frantically trying to get government contracts and preferential positions in the Myanmar market. Obama is visiting to make sure his cronies and contributors don’t get left out.

I tried to explain this to some friends of mine who voted for Obama and are on the democratic side and not the patriotic side like us but dang it if they did not throw it back in my face that if that were true, the GOP would be yelling and screaming about it all day long and pressing that issue.....UGH! Damn GOP.

Interesting IMO that he’s offering defense before the offense.
He can no longer get adulation here in our country so he must go elsewhere to live on that.
My wife explained it ti a neighbor this weekend.
The woman wondered why the media and the news had not mentioned it.
Maybe if the GOP had got on TV and called a press conference then more would have heard about it.
Hell we don;t even know where obama was during this latest terrorist attack in Libya or what he did or what order he gave or even did he go to sleep.
The only thing the GOP is doing right now is keep saying taxes will not go up on the top 2%.
Maybe it;s just me but I say raise the taxes like obama wants, then say we worked with obama but he still has not stopped the debt going up and then watch him raise taxes on lower incomes and then when that doesn’t work then we shoudl win the next election in two years, take back the senate if we actually don;t put dopes out there and then get the white house.
All I hear is how the GOP wants to fight for the top 2% and thatplays well with the great unwashed masses.
