McCartney says skip the turkey on Thanksgiving

AFP - Former Beatle Paul McCartney, a long-time vegetarian, has joined a campaign by animal rights group PETA to encourage Americans to celebrate a turkey-free Thanksgiving this week.

The British rock legend, sporting a gray shirt with an "eat no turkey" design, is featured on the website of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

"This Thanksgiving, Paul McCartney is urging you to say 'no, thanks' to turkey and 'yes' to a delicious, cruelty-free holiday meal," the group says.

More than 45 million turkeys will make their way onto American dinner tables on Thursday, and another 22 million are consumed at Christmas, according to PETA.

Each year, US presidents grant a pardon to one or two turkeys -- a tradition that only dates back to president George Bush in 1989, even though Thanksgiving was first celebrated by pilgrims who fled religious persecution in England.

Paul McCartney, the scumbag hypocrite that left England to not pay taxes, but remains full blown douchebag liberal.

I’ll be serving two 12lb turkeys and a smoked bone in ham.

Like a previous poster, my ham bone and some ham leftovers have a future date with a pot of navy beans. Oh, and the stock used in the navy beans will be from the leftover bones/carcasses of the turkeys. Waste not, want not.

Please join me by swearing off on listening to anything McCartney on Thanksgiving day.

You prefaced this by suggesting a sacrifice on our part and we find there is no sacrifice.

I would think Paul McCartney would be hiding at Thanksgiving.

Paul wants the largest turkey to be his post-Beatles recording catalogue.

If I was a turkey producer, I would hire Yoko Ono to do turkey commercials.

But, Paul, without turkey, how will you hide your pot in the stuffing?

“”This Thanksgiving, Paul McCartney is urging you to say ‘no, thanks’ to turkey and ‘yes’ to a delicious, cruelty-free holiday meal,” the group says.”

A cruelty-free vegetarian meal? Ain’t no such thing. Factory farming displaces hundreds of species of animals. Diesel trucks delivering those veggies pollute the air.

Like so many green thinkers, they don’t (think that is). Look at electric cars. We can just plug them in they say. What a joke. Those batteries are heavy polluters and electricity doesn’t just come out of the air. Something has to be burned somewhere to make it.

Give me a break.

We are skipping the Turkey this year.
I am smoking two briskets and 4 racks of spare ribs instead.
Love Texas Thanksgivings.
