Wal-Mart is taking legal action against its organized labor opponents, filing an unfair labor practice charge over widespread protests at its stores across the country — as well as rallies planned for Black Friday, considered the biggest shopping day of the year.
The company filed a complaint on Friday against the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, claiming the labor union — one of the nation's largest — has unlawfully disrupted business by staging protests at Wal-Mart's stores and warehouses around the country over the past six months.
The retail giant, which has roughly 1.3 million U.S. workers, is asking the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for an injunction against the rallies and pickets — even flash mobs — that have sprung up at stores nationwide, according to the Wall Street Journal.
"We are taking this action now because we cannot allow the UFCW to continue to intentionally seek to create an environment that could directly and adversely impact our customers and associates," Wal-Mart spokesman David Tovar said in a statement obtained by Reuters. "If they do, they will be held accountable."

If I was buying, say, a fancy party dress, yes, I'll buy that at an upscale store. But why should I pay a hundred dollars for some designer jeans at a department store when I can buy a decent pair of no name jeans at Walmart or some place similar? Jeans are jeans. I don't need a designer name emblazoned on my posterior.
Until the government starts telling us where to shop, I'm not boycotting Walmart or anyone else.
In a free society,the consumer is king. Greed and selfishness of business owners operate through the profit motive,the uniformity of profit principle, and the price system to drive businesses to try to please the consumers.Businessmen try to anticipate any shifts in consumer demand ahead of their rivals. If they are wrong, and if the consumers fail to make Greed Thursday profitable, then businesses would stop doing it. An assault by unions against working on Greed Thursday is an assault on the power of consumers in a free market.
At the Walmart where I shop, everytime I’ve needed assistence they’ve been very helpful, even walking with me to an item I asked about on the other side of the store.

He’s tha Chairman of the Board. I don’t know if he’s involved at all in the day to day operations.
These 2nd and 3rd gen heirs tend to jump the rails pretty consistently. Inherited wealth somehow tends to really screw people up. Just destroys any semblence of common sense.

with
S. Rawlings Walton (Obama donor)
I had read on Newsmax that it was “Sam Walton” the Chairman of WalMart who made the donation. I’d also read on a blog it was Robson who made the donation (the chairman).
They constantly want to refer to him as Sam which is confusing and the name many associate with the founder. At this point I’m not certain who made the donation.
