Mitt Romney Pumps His Own Gas At La Jolla Station

After losing to President Obama in the election earlier this month, his former political opponent Mitt Romney has kept in the shadows of defeat. The former Republican nominee was spotted at La Jolla gas station Monday pumping gas, looking rather disheveled. TMZ reports that he and his wife were on a movie date, catching the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 and grabbed some pizza afterwards. The flick of Romney at the tank was snapped up by Reddit user mkb95, who wrote "Mitt Romney at my local gas station. He looks tired and washed up." He even got to interact with the former presidential candidate. "I talked to him for a good three minutes while he was filling his tank," the photographer added. "I guess he's moving to one of his houses in the town I live in, La Jolla." Things aren't entirely bad for Romney. He gets to wallow in his losses as the owner of a $12 million mansion in California.

Maybe he’ll do his “Checkers” speech and run again.

He's certainly no Nixon but Nixon wasn't the first losing candidate to run again and win. He's just the latest. Thomas Jefferson, John Q Adams, Andrew Jackson, William Henry Harrison all did. Cleveland lost reelection but went on to beat his successor Harrison in a rematch.

If the economy falters in the second term of Obama, Romney has a stronger case. I doubt he'd run again but he shouldn't be counted out just because he lost.

He didn't look disheveled in that photo; his shirt just didn't look pressed.

Romney didn't "connect" with a lot of people, that's the popular meme about him right now...but, I believe him to be a decent and down-to-earth guy. The liberals try to make him out to be Thurston Powell (Gilligan's Island's millionaire), wallowing in limosines and caviar, but I don't see that about him.

The bastards in the MSM have been doing this for over a half a century. The MSM portrayed FDR, a multi-millionare who inherited his fortune, as a "man of the people". They portrayed Pres. Hoover, who was born poor and worked his way up as a mining engineer as the evil friend of big business.

That's news to me, I live here and wasn't aware of any full service, anywhere, much less "generally".

Somehow, it is immoral to use money you actually earned to run for political office. But it is just fine to use a famous name your father bestowed upon you (like Bob Casey, Jr.) or celebrity status which the media bestowed on you (like BO) for an entitlement to political office.

You just described career politician Mitt Romney from the Romney political dynasty, who first entered politics as an intern for his Governor father, who was later a presidential candidate, who worked for the Nixon administration, and who's wife ran for Senator, and even Mitt's wife entered politics on the famous "Romney" name.

Nobody in America had a greater sense of entitlement than the son of George and Lenore Romney, the Golden Child.
