Grab the Constitution. It doesn't say you can say what you want without consequences. It says "Congress shall make no law....".. you still can face consequences for the choices you make, such as being an idiot. The employer is completely free to fire her ass if they feel she is a detriment to their company and everyone else is free to criticize and mock her all the way to her next job asking "do you want fries with that?"

Freedom of Speech also carries with it the burden to use that freedom responsibly. Which is why is it illegal to yell ‘fire’ in a crowded building, etc.

People who abuse freedoms need to understand the consequences of their ‘exercise’ of their freedoms.

No one is restricting her freedom of speech. Here employer also has freedom of contract, and they can object and fire her without violating her freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech DOES apply to her. The federal government is not going to do a thing against her over her speech.

Unfortunately for her, though, for the rest of her life every employer who googles her name as part of pre-employment evaluation will have this incident come up. That employer will also be aware that there are people out there on the net who will never forget, and will let the world know that she is now employed at XYZ corp, and to let her employer know what you think of their hiring decision.

Her life is screwed.
