State environmental leaders this week hailed California's first cap-and-trade auction a success, but it was hardly so for the state budget. Gov. Jerry Brown and state lawmakers assumed three auctions this fiscal year would generate $1 billion total for the state, half of which they want to plug the state budget deficit. But most of the $289 million raised this month is dedicated for utilities and their ratepayers, leaving only $55.8 million for state purposes.

Great news! Hey Moonbeam, Tax revenue continues to decline, too! “All aboard the USS Calitanic”! “Liberals may board first.”

This has got to be a Grand Fiasco in the making. I can hardly wait to see how it all actually turns out.

At least they can fall back on capital gains taxes from the Facebook IPO... ooooo, that's not looking so good.

Maybe the San Sebastian copper mine will still work out.

Really how much demand can their really be for clean air credits? California has closed down and never replaced all their power plants what did they expect, that’s where the money is for the Tri-State auctions. It’s a case of what if we auctioned off air and no one came

What a pathetic joke. CARB. Moonbeam, California, sad so many have stuck it out here for all these years only to be kicked in the head again.. and again by unelected elitists with carbon anxiety.

papers were crowing it was a hugh success and went smoothly. they lied.. nothing new, they lie all the time.. it’s a liebral thing, I guess.. we’ll see where they run when the state bellies up and goes Reconquista. at least the air will be clean,, except for the dung being burnt for heat and cooking.. Stick that in your carb, CARB.

Yes,it is pathetic. I think a list of all purchasers will be released Monday. Then we’ll know who had additional business expense this month and need to recoup it, next month.
