Did they actually fire the other workers or did they transfer them to stores where English would be the primary language spoken? Seems to me Walmart's trying to make a buck. If the clientele is primarily Spanish speaking, it makes sense that many of the employees would be as well.

I'm no huge fan of Walmart. Except a few very specific packaged food items, we actually buy very little from there. However, I get suspicious when I hear claims like they "fired the white workers."

I don't know - SaraJohnson originated the thread I responded to and may not have any real info. As you indicate, it makes no sense to fire English speakers in favor of Mexicans without a reason - they have to pay comparable wages/benefits (and they would have their fannies sued off if they did as what was claimed) so if anything like it occurs, it must have some sound business rationale.
