Hoosier workers to get $111 come tax time

INDIANAPOLIS | Hoosier income tax payers each will receive $111 next year as Indiana returns a portion of its $2.15 billion budget reserve to its citizens.

Gov. Mitch Daniels on Wednesday announced the value of the taxpayer refund created by lawmakers in 2011 to ensure the state's reserve funds never get too big. Under the law, a refund is automatically triggered when the reserve tops 10 percent of the next year's budgeted spending.

"Better that these dollars remain in the pockets of the men and women who earned them than burn a hole in the pockets of government," Daniels said.

Why is it when I paid it it was based on percentage of what I made but the refund is a flat rate?
Flat rates are only a good idea when you’re on the receiving end I guess

WOOOHOOOOO Gov. Mitch Daniels and Hoosiers!

BIG GOVERNMENT IS CRONY SOCIALISM. DEFUND their collectives. DISMANTLE their collectives. DEPOPULATE them from the body politic.

Pay, pensions and perks of all legislators past and present rescinded for not reducing/eliminating the debt.

“—That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

Alter it.

Taxes will be minimal. We will live free and prosper.

When Jerry Brown was governor the first time, Calif had a $5 billion surplus. Big money in the 1970s. He refused to refund any to the tax payers. Result: we passed proposition 13 limiting property taxes. One of the best things ever in Cal.

Good for Indiana.

Obama has asked the Attorney General about the possibility of kicking Indiana out of the union for such an anti-statist move.

Indiana should hang on to the money so that when Ill-annoy goes bankrupt, Indiana can purchase the remains (except for Chicago, of course).

I moved back home to Indiana from California three years ago. One of the best moves I ever made. It’s good to be a Hoosier.

My dad lives in Ind. on $600/mo. SS and help from his children. He pays no income taxes and he ain’t no bum. And if any mouth breathers out there don’t want the money they can send it to someone like him. They’ll be grateful to have it.

Daniels was the only potential candidate that I think had any chance of doing better than Romney.

Daniels was one of my early favorites but by many here he was deemed too much a RINO and not prolife enough even after defunding planned parenthood.

Others thought he was less of a man because his wife left him to marry another man even though Daniels won her back.

Still others didn't like his so-called call for a "truce" on social issues and focus on the red ink menace. And then there were those who didn't like his association with Bush.

Cited as the reason he didn't run in 2012, I doubt his wife would sign off on 2016 but it might change with time.

From the first two sentences:

Two phrases are in the sentence you sent to me: “Tax payers” and the phrase “its citizens.”

Now, wise guy, which ones are going to get paid? The tax payers or the citizens? It’s obvious that a tax payer is a citizen but it is not obvious that a citizen is a tax payer.

Furthermore anyone who files a tax return is considered a “tax payer” even if they were on welfare and didn’t pay any tax. Take the federal earned income tax credit for bums for example.

Get the “drift” do you?
