**Please Note**

I originally tried to post this using mostly Wikipedia data - which appears to be the most current - but Free Republic does not allow Wiki articles to be posted.

I don't have time to go back and refigure and re-edit every number.

Dave Leip's numbers are almost exactly the same, so I linked to his site instead of Wiki.

Sorry for any confusion.

My original post was the following...

Wikipedia uses the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS.org) for state vote totals.

Not all states have certified, so current results are not final.

Also, NASS.org does not appear to tabulate a running national vote total.

I'll guess the Wikipedia researcher had to calculate his own national vote total, so his/her vote total may be subject to calculation error.

I compared Wikipedia to "Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections."

Dave Leip is an election fanatic and is often quoted by major news sources.

Leip's numbers are slightly lower than Wikipedia, but his percentages are almost the same.

Via Wikipedia...

Obama is down almost 5.5 million votes from 2008.

Romney is just 4,000 votes behind McCain's 2008 total.

Libertarians had the best showing among Third Parties - 1.242 million (0.99%)

Greens came in fourth - 450,000 (0.36%)

Total Third Parties - about 2 million votes (1.7%)

Wow, it is interesting that the Green vote has just collapsed and coalesced into Obama’s total vote.

Where do we go from here?

I'm not completely discouraged.

Romney lost by 3.3% and Obama barely got 50%.

When you consider the total Obama support by the MSM, when you consider the lack of enthusiasm about Romney, those are not even close to landslide numbers.

The GOP also got 61% of the white vote, a modern record.

That's a 24 year trend that Republicans are afraid to talk about.

Namely, each election, except for 2008, the GOP gets a slightly higher percent of the white vote.

If we push that to 62% in 2016, and we improve turnout, we can beat these guys.

I've learned one lesson from 2012...

White voters - Republican and Independents - are not going to calmly accept a Socialist majority dominated by American Blacks and Hispanics.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And ....The Democrat criminal fraud will increase again just enough to overwhelm that increase in the white vote.

Add the Libertarians to Romney’s vote still wouldn’t of put him over.

Does anyone go back and look at the fraud stats / numbers and come up with a percent ? Obama took all the big the cities but I wonder how much is fraud...

Polls indicated that Romney was going to win the election. The economy is close to Great Depression era conditions, and unemployment is almost as high as when Obama entered office. Economic conditions became so dire after Obama took office it prompted the rise of an entire new movement, the Tea Party.
Presidents rarely win reelection when the economy is in the tank.
So how did Romney lose a race that numerous reputable polls and pundits predicted would be an easy win, based on historical patterns?
Massive voter fraud.

There are massive reports of criminal activity
(not mischief, not shenanigans, as many term the fraud- but CRIMINAL ACTIVITY) going on all over the U.S during the presidential election.
Reports of machines changing votes from Romney to Obama, eyewitness reports of Republican poll watchers who observed busloads of non-English speaking Somalians in Ohio being instructed to vote Obama- the list is endless.

http://www.ObamaVoterFraud.com/

Romney lost because of this, not any other reason.
Nobody could have won against the fraud planned and perpetrated by the Obama Machine.

We can not wait for 2014 and 2016 to regroup and figure out new strategies. By then it will be too late. The Marxist/Muslim usurper will have completed his planned distruction of America.

That’s what people fail to understand.

Col Allen West; “I don’t want to see America become like Zimbabwe where people don’t trust their electoral process. If we cannot trust the integrity of the voting system then we are no longer a free republic.

Col West has opened the door.
It’s now up to We The People.

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.

The evidence is overwhelming!

Republicans need to try a candidate that people want to vote for.

When you lose to Jimmy Carter’s second term when on the verge of a depression, then you had the wrong candidate.

So running against Reagan was still the strongest showing the libertarians ever had, with 1.06% of the vote.

I was looking at the numbers and it is interesting to see that PA moved rightward and almost mirrored VA. Even though Romney reclaimed several states Obama won in 2008 he still is on track to get less votes than McCain though Obama lost the most votes over 2008. Its really clear that Team Romney’s strategy to play it safe and let Team Obama totally define Romney through the summer set up this defeat. Sure Huricane Sandy didn’t help but had Romney drove up Obama’s negatives he would’ve been in a much better position. It was interesting to see that Romney got less votes in Ohio than McCain however he did do better in FL and VA.

There is no mystery as to why Romney lost and it wasn’t hispanics, blacks, and gays. Its because conservative blue collar voters stayed home rather than vote for Romney or Obama and those voters should’ve been in Romney’s camp which validates how very effective Obama’s voter suppression ad campaign worked with those voters. Romney could’ve did the same but didn’t run even one hard hitting ad accussing Obama of anything. The Romney ads favored impersonal announcers and uninspiring themes. The most horrible part of this election is the feeling that our side totally wasted its resources without really laying a hand on the President. What we need are more Lee Atwaters and less gentlemen snob consultants who routinely hold love ins with the left. Look at the McCain campaign manager who is now a regular on MSNBC you don’t have to go further than that.

Thank you patriot08 for all your sources. We must to band together and stamp out voter fraud. I believe in this election there are many cases where votes have been either altered, cancelled, omitted, ignored, whatever. I’m curious if any election monitor has ever been caught and punished for voter fraud? We need to bring this to light.
Post here if you have any knowledge of this happening. thx

I know there is fraud and if this becomes the norm Republicians should start engaging in it as well. I’m not condoning it, but if those are the rules then that’s how we should compete.

We will win on an even playing field.

What % of the total voter age pool, (=registered and un-registered, 18 and older), actually voted?

IOW, if 50 % of the voter age pool bothered to vote and the winner got 50 % of those voting, then 50 % of 50 % =25 % , or one out of four voter age Americans chooses how the other 3/4 ths of us will live.

Many of your "facts" are not.

But I'll just deal (again) with your very first assertion:
Polls indicated that Romney was going to win the election.
In fact, polling showed that Obama was going to win the electoral college, most of the swing states, and that the popular vote could go either way. (remember, all polling is a guestimate, with a margin of error generally in the 3-4% range, so in a vote of 100 million, a 50/50 poll could mean a swing of 6 million votes, 3 million for one or the other candidate).

The RCP averages showed Obama leading for 303 electoral votes, and Romney leading for 235. The final election total was 332 to 206. That's because Obama took Florida, which RCP had for Romney by 1.5%, and Obama won with 0.9%.

But RCP uses the last poll from each polling firm in the last 2 weeks for it's final averages. And for some reason, many polling firms had given up on Florida, and missed a turn to Obama in the past week. And so the final Florida RCP polls were swamped by two local, clearly less-accurate polls giving Romney a 5% and 6% lead. The two nationally known polling results (PPP and NBC) had Obama leading.

In addition, the final results, even in florida, were consistant with the undecided vote breaking to Obama. Generally speaking, undecideds break to challengers, but in this case, Sandy helped undecideds break back to Obama, because it gave Obama a "look" of being Presidential.

But even if Florida had gone the way polls suggested, Obama was still heading for a clear and convincing win. Some people were re-adjusting the polls for what they "knew", in order to make it look like Romney could be ahead, but that isn't polling, it's wishful thinking.

Another type of polling, Intrade, was all in for Obama as well.

Others pushing this "massive fraud" complaint will say that Romney was leading in the "4 swing states", but in 3 of them Obama was ahead in the polls. Ohio: Obama +1.9%. Virginia: Obama +0.3%. Colorado: Obama +1.5%

Other pipe dreams: Wisconsin: Obama +4.2%; Pennsylvania: Obama +3.8%; Michigan: Obama +4.0%

When your argument starts with a false premise, you won't get good results. Also, the economy is NOT close to "Great Depression" era conditions (sad to see a conservative fall for Obama talking points), and while unemployment is higher by some measures, it has been moving in the "right" direction rather than the "wrong" direction, so people see things as getting "better" rather than "worse". Remember that "most" people who had jobs still have jobs, and most people who don't have jobs are natural democratic constituencies anyway.

The economic presidential models actually gave a slight edge to Obama in the last month.

But you'll keep spamming threads with your extremely large and conspiratorial post (I recommend you just post it once somewhere, maybe in it's own thread, and just link to it.
