Mitt wasn’t hip

Agree on the main point, but also the average O /Joe voter doesn’t realize
that hip doesn’t but a better life in place for you.

Sure you can have public housing, O phone, food stamps, etc...

But sooner or later, the rung beneath you will want yours, and you will find
there’s no where to go, and then maybe realize that

Hip was not where it was at.....

AMNESTY!!!

So okay, why can’t a Republican say that the American citizenry already granted mass amnesty during the Reagan era, granted it with a promise that borders will be strengthened and future illegal immigrants will be handled better.

Why couldn’t Romney say this? Why don’t they understand why we object to this, that we did it once, that we’re back to square one, that fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me?

Why can’t a Republican say this?

Cause they want the Hispanic vote is why. They call us insensitive, ....the Blue Blooods have not done us right.

period.

Pre-Crash or Post-Crash?

I really think that there is one thing that kept Obama from losing, as Carter did. That thing is hyper-inflation.

Yes, inflation is happening, but the Admin and the MSM have managed to keep it off the front pages. It has been more subtle than under Carter. Even the high gas prices (nearing or just over $4) started going down a few weeks before the election. Co-winky-dink? Nah, it was planned to help the status quo.

Now that Obama is safe for the next 4 years, we will see 'revised' unemployment numbers heading toward reality, and we could see hyper-inflation manifest itself very soon.

Nixon froze MY wages. Why?

Point is, yeah most voters don’t remember this. Point is, the pubs, they get talked into most any silly thing.

Remember how they convinced the very, very dumb HW Bush that he had to raise taxes even though he did that “read my lips” thing.

41 years, huh?

The pubs have been wrong for that long cause freezing someone’s wages should NEVER have been part of any Republican’s agenda.

My point is.....it’s not like they’ve been right or anything. Given a chance the pubs lie down like tired dogs, roll over and do what the other party tells them to do.

And don’t forget the air bags. Republicans called air bags a form of communism.

Snort.

Once cell phones became all the rage it was agreed on that, well hey, now we should give free CELL PHONES to the poor. The pubs knew nothing about this?

The program did not originate under Obama. It originated under Open Checkbook George W.

Even so, the Pubbies didn't know how to take credit and use it.

Which brings up another contention: I sometimes wonder whether the GOP really do want to win and become the Congressional majority and have the White House. That means they have responsibility. Why take that on, when, as the minority, they still get 'stuff' in legislation; they just don't get as much as the Majority party does. They seem very contented to be minority.

Tis true, so-called Obama phones were started under Dubya, once again using emotion that we sob over the poor who can’t get a job for lack of a phone.

Lesssee.....cell phones, no child left behind with Ted Kennedy (why couldn’t the pubs tell the country that making deals with senators who left young women to die is not a good idea?), air bags, freezing wages....

Come on....why should I buy the pubs’ version of things?

I say again, BOTH parties have failed.

Time to start a new one.

It’s not necessary to start a network. Just get in the gutter with the dims and fight them. Hit the dims with some populism and Twitter sized zingers. Like the 80 billion in “green” subsidies = 2 million teachers from the debate. We should be hearing those kind of jabs EVERY Sunday from the beltway GOP.

I’m game.

Here’s the thing....as we discuss, josh, snark....we know the problem and WANT to change it.

The Blue Blood elected....well why can’t they get a pub on Twitter....come up with a system?

And dear Lord you are so right about those GREEN subsidies. Now that I think about it, I don’t recall Romney mentioning that debacle that Americans would get. Romney could have mentioned that while Obama’s throwing money at cronies in the silly green industry he could be giving them more minutes on the free cell phones.

41 years these guys have been buckling under, not getting it.

Should we put in for 41 more years?

Pre-Crash or Post-Crash? After the economy collapses the public will be in a very different mood, and will be able to see the difference between builders and takers. Until we crash, too many people are taking the position that "things are okay, so let's vote for the free stuff guy or not vote at all."

I have a theory on why folk on the right might have sat out this election - ROBERTS showed a lot of people that there is no fail safe anymore.

IMHO there has to be a crash before anyone wakes up in sheeple filled America.

I must admit I agree but why do our candidates win in the south and mid west? How do we instill our values in the rest of the US? We have to figure out a way.

We protested in the thousands against ObamaCare.....what good did it do us?

Why? Here's why:

For example, such Republicans who stand against AMNESTY such as Rep John Fleming

And Sen. Jeff Sessions

You are right. Our county GOP won all but one this last election.....state and county. We had better candidates and they worked very hard to win and win they did.

I mostly watch C-Span. In the morning they have Washington Journal. They read from different Newspapers, ask a question and let the viewers call in with their opinion. The hosts never give their own opinion about anything.

They do have guests and will ask them questions and viewers call in with their own questions.

When the House is in, no matter what they are showing, C-Span cuts to it.

In a few minutes, they come in and get started.
No matter what they say on some show, you get the real deal on C-Span.

C-Span2 has the Senate. Most of the time, they are in a quorum call. But they really get down to it when arguing about a bill.

Swing voters my a$$,

Swing voters are just "grown-up" schoolyard children. Just like when a fight broke out in school the masses in an instant, go with the "winner". Not with the one who articulates their "policy" better.

We need to stengthen our base which in turn will make us stronger, which will attract more; A) base voters, & B)mushy "swing" voters.

Until the RNC-E desires to "win" this cant happen.

the working poor

It not understanding opportunity cost.

But they will soon, there will be no opportunity for many. Forget buying a car or a house, you will pay for the Democrats Health Care Bureaucracy! And get nothing! And little opportunity for a full-time job.

Hopefully, the hip realization hits ‘em soon. Similarly, liberalism is easy and feels good. Conservatism requires some thought, some work and doesn’t feel good until the end.

We protested in the thousands against ObamaCare.....what good did it do us?

Well it did us pretty much NO good, came recent election and we were shocked that we are now the "minority". Another lesson from last election, thanks for giving me segue.

I'm sure arguments could be thrown out that many Conserv voters didn't turn out, that Obama had fake voters, that this alleged "minority" status of what Nixon used to call the "silent majority" isn't written in stone.

True. But there's been a status change, let's agree on this and move along.

For the record, I see the country divided pretty much evenly and there's many who just need a charismatic inspirational leader to lead them. Would this have been McCain, control your laughter? Would it have been Dole, who spoke of himself in the third person this was the best the pubs had? Romney was close, a guy who would have waltzed to victory in 1990 given the economy and the country's demographics?

These Blue Blood guys, tired of repeating the mantra here, just ain't doing it. We'll never move on until we agree on this. They don't like it and they've got power. Our power is our numbers but there's that thing about herding cats.

So what good did our protests against Obamacare do? No good at all. Sit down guys, take a breath.

OBAMACARE WON!

Sure we had reasonable concerns, it was possibly the most horrible piece of gubmental excretia put into law in the history of the country. But it was debated and discussed, the pubs did okay railing against Obamacare, Ryan had a proposed solution.

Guys, we lost the issue. Fifteen minutes to sob cause the Supreme court passed it over to the voters, de facto that's what they did. If you believe in majority rule buys, accept that gubmint health care is here to stay. The best we can do is get busy fixing every damn thing wrong with it.

I got lots of ways to fix Obamacare, as expected, but for now I hope mntwm's lament that our protests against Obamacare didn't ward it off was simply because.....we lost the issue.
