A poll conducted on November 5 by Rasmussen Reports found that an all-time high of 68% of likely U.S. voters say that global warming is a serious problem; 38% of them thought it was very serious.
Considering the benefits of warming and the fact that even the UK Met office shows that there has been no global warming in the past 16 years, this demonstrates the degree to which the population has been propagandized into believing the opposite of reality. We are the first generation in history to believe that climatic warming is a bad thing.
In a warmer world, less energy is needed for heating and transportation, resulting in less air, land, and water pollution. Snow and ice that seriously hamper movement and increase the costs of land and water shipping are reduced. Roads, bridges, and other infrastructure maintenance costs drop, as there would be less freeze/thaw and ice damage. Clothing expenses obviously reduce in a warmer world, and construction costs plummet as less insulation is required in all buildings.
The benefits of warming are especially prominent in agriculture. Longer frost-free periods will extend growing seasons as well as the extent of agriculture in middle- and high-latitude regions. More and greater varieties of food are then possible in areas that are currently agriculturally marginal.
Contrary to the assertions of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a warmer world is a wetter world with less, not more, droughts. This is because evaporation increases with warming, putting more moisture into the atmosphere.
This week, well be hearing in The Dirty Weather Report from Al Gores Climate Reality Project that global warming will lead to more extreme weather. This is wrong. In the exceptionally unlikely event that the world warms significantly due to increasing greenhouse gas emissions, temperatures at high latitudes are forecast to rise the most, reducing the difference between arctic and tropical temperatures. Since this differential drives weather, we should see weaker mid-latitude cyclones in a warmer world less extremes in weather, not more. Rising global temperatures would produce a tranquilizing effect on weather, something we would all welcome.
Far more people die due to excessive cold than due to excessive warmth. Cold weather is obviously much harder on our bodies than is warm weather. That is why people retire to Florida or Arizona, and not Alaska.
History demonstrates that warming has been good, and cooling bad, for civilization. That is why geologists named past warm periods optimums and cold times dark ages.
It was during the warmest period since the end of the last ice age, a time called the Holocene Optimum between 9,000 and 5,000 years ago, that the first civilizations flourished in the Fertile Crescent of the Middle East. Other warm periods, climate optimums during Minoan, Roman, and Medieval times, and of course, the modern warm period, have all resulted in increased food productivity, lower death rates, and greater all-around prosperity.
In contrast, cold periods have been very rough on societies. The Dark Ages Cold Period between about 600 and 900 AD was a time of great retreat of agriculture and depression of human activity. There were plagues and starvation in many regions and people were forced to migrate away from farms in central Europe and Scandinavia.
The Little Ice Age (LIA) from about 1350 to 1850 was even worse; there was great misery for people around the world. Alpine glaciers overran mountain villages in Europe, and cold and wet weather killed millions of farm animals and ruined crops. With famine weakening the population, more than a third of Europeans died due to bubonic plague. People resorted to making bread from tree bark, and in some parts of Europe cannibalism was common. Later in the LIA, a million people died in Ireland and a million more left the country due to the Potato Famine brought on by the cold weather. Storms ravaged coastal settlements in both Europe and across the Pacific.
The IPCC 2007 Working Group II report on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability states: A focus on key vulnerabilities is meant to help policy-makers and stakeholders assess the level of risk and design pertinent response strategies.
They are right. But it is impossible to do this without understanding the benefits of warming, and even more importantly, the dangers of cooling. The experience of India, which has prospered while warming over the past 50 years, demonstrates how well humans, even those living in hot climates, can adapt to warming. But cooling is a killer, and scientists are increasingly telling us a more probable event as well.
It has been found that the Earth is warmer when the Sun is more active as indicated by sunspot count. Our planet is cooler when there are fewer sunspots. The current 11-year sunspot cycle, Cycle 24, is already showing less spots than predicted, and expectations are for lower numbers still in Cycle 25, expected to start in about ten years. Not surprisingly, global temperatures have leveled and show signs of declining. By the mid- to late 2020s, conditions comparable to the LIA are a distinct possibility. Beginning to plan for adaptation to such a cool period should be a priority for governments. Besides, if you plan for cooling and it warms, adaptation is much easier than if you plan for warming and it cools.
President Barack Obama said in his victory speech last Wednesday: We want our children to live in an America that isnt threatened by the destructive power of a warming planet.
In the real world, we must forget about vainly trying to control global climate and instead get ready for the destructive power of a cooling planet.
I happened to see a YT video made by a college girl. She was a resident of NJ and was basically driving along showing and commenting on the carnage post-Sandy.
Her comment was “we have to stop this global warming, they taught us in high school this was going to happen.”
There’s a LOT of work to do.....
The little ice age is clear evidence of that.

We can start by taking away her cars keys. That’ll fix her.
Global warming may exist....so what...you really think you can compute what the temperature of the earth should be or will be based on historical data? Even the concept is ridiculous. There are just too many variables.
can’t get this out of my mind, everytime this subject comes up: The Midnight Sun, an episode of the American television anthology series The Twilight Zone.
...The Earth has begun moving away from its usual orbit and is gradually falling in its rotation towards the sun...A prolific artist, Norma, and her landlady, Mrs. Bronson, are the last people in their apartment building. Everyone else has either moved north where it is cooler or perished from the extremely high temperatures... As mentioned by a radio reporter, all citizens are to remain indoors and be prepared for a looter rampage. The radio reporter also states that you can “cook eggs on your sidewalk and cook soup in the oceans”...The thermometer surges past 120°F, and eventually shatters...
The scene cuts to the apartment at night. In the inconceivably frigid darkness outside, the weather is anything but hot. The same thermometer reads -10°F, and there is a blizzard outside. Norma is bedridden with a high fever, and is accompanied by Mrs. Bronson and a doctor. She was only dreaming that the Earth was moving closer to the sun. In reality, the Earth is moving away from the sun and will eventually freeze over. Norma tells Mrs. Bronson about her nightmare, adding, “Isn’t it wonderful to have darkness, and coolness?”
Mrs. Bronson replies with a sense of dread in her voice, “Yes, my dear, it’s... wonderful.”
cold kills. in more ways than one. our food needs warmth to be planted and grow.
I remember that show

Are mushrooms. Kept in the dark and fed $h1t by or own
government through it’s controlled media. This is one of
many fact proven lies intentionally pushed on the American
public with the approval of the federal government. They
know it’s a lie and believe it’s to better the common good.
Mushrooms. The only thing this proves is liberalism is
about creating and maintaining a general population of
dumba$$es. And they have a 69% success rate so far.
I've been having dreams where the "darkness" consists of marxism and loss of individual liberty and imminent collapsing of the dollar. When I wake up, these fears for some reason don't go away...
All day today on the History channel they have been running shows about the earth and what happens when it cools.
From the dinosaurs 65 million years ago to humans as recently as the Little Ice Age, animal life cannot survive very well in extraordinary winter conditions.
On Drudge, a Pravda headline: Obama “re-elected by illiterate society”. This is all related. I think we are in some real trouble here. A nation this stupid cannot remain number one in the world for long.

“you’ve just crossed over into, The Obama Zone”.
I believe in colder climates you have a larger percentage of a stronger society, more people who survive the cold, become acclimated, work with it and adjust their diet usually are stronger and liver longer. In other words a cooler climate weeds out the weaker. having lived in Alaska for the last 20 years I can see the differences in the culture against the people say from LA or Houston.
We're conservatives, we pay our own way.
Times are tough on a lot of us, but if you've got a job, really, $5 a month? You're going to miss that? How about turning off the lights when you leave the room? How about dropping the thermostat a degree while you're not at home? How about skipping that fancy pants coffee twice a month?
All we're asking for is $5 a month. Get out that wallet, input your Debit/Credit card #, set up a monthly and forget about it.
If this ham-n-egger can be a dollar a day guy, you can pony up $0.17 a day. Seventeen cents a day for all the time you spend on FR?
Cerainly, a bargain at twice the price, don't you agree?
You'll feel much better about your time on FR.
The 20 somethings, teenagers, and current children will not have the opportunity to be stupid as middle-aged adults. They will either learn some really hard lessons or starve by the time 2030 - 2040 comes around, if not sooner. Our economy cannot produce any other outcome at this point.
Not exactly time to break out the bikinis in december.
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
H. L. Mencken
IMHO “Global Warming” is just another one of these hobgoblins.
I remember it too.I can still see the thermometer exploding,
the literal-minded way it used to on the old TV shows.

Global warming will inconvenience millions. The next ice age will kill billions, and it’s overdue.
The next ice age will kill billions, and its overdue.”
Oh, well, at least social security won’t go bankrupt....
What I’m afraid for is that man made global warming is going to cause global cooling. We need to raise taxes or we are all gonna die.
Book marked for later reading.
The situation is so far advanced that WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE, EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US, EVEN IF WE DOUBLE OR TRIPLE TAXES.
This is a scientifically verifiable fact!
Thus we must end all private property and confiscate all wealth in order to make the end as comfortable as possible for as many as possible.
It is the New American Way.
If it’s cooling does that mean that we all need to buy big SUV’s so we put more carbon in the air? Also now instead of a carbon tax we need to be paid when we use more carbon. I think I like global cooling.
It seems the “received wisdom” to project that the carbon dioxide released by human activity will catastrophically step up global surface temperatures, when the bald reality is that man’s capability of “energy auditing” the globe is nowhere close to being able to posit any analytical prediction. The globe has many mechanisms that could easily dampen out any single-factor effect. The folks who allegedly bend spoon handles via telekinesis have a better claim to rigorous scientific proof than the warmists do.
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. - H. L. MenckenThe whole aim of journalism is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be further warned of danger) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
Amazing how those things coincide, isnt it!!The interesting thing, though, is to observe that it is only socialist politics, and not so-called conservative, right wing politics which is promoted by journalism institutionally and which has a revolving door relationship with journalism. There is no example of a conservative political activist ever having obtained a job as an objective journalist. George Stephanopolous is a working journalist in good standing, but he has not changed a bit from when he was a Clinton political hack.So when Mencken spoke of the whole aim of practical politics being to alarm the public with imaginary hobgoblins, he was either being cynical, or he meant that politics aligned with the interests of so-called objective journalism was and is the only kind of politics which is practical. And after this last election, who can dispute the latter interpretation?

While that’s true, the reverse is also true. People acclimated to the hotter and more humid climes will thrive while those from the cold climes like Alaska, Canada, etc., will suffer a lot.
In early 1960s, my FIL (oldest of 9 kids) invited two of his brothers and their wives (they all lived in Racine WI) to visit us in the DFW area in July. We took them all over the area for several days. They thought they would die if not in the car or house with a/c.
When my daughter was less than a year old, the FIL took us on a drive up to Racine to show off his grandkid... in February! We were there for several days, with temps at -24F in the daytime! ....As a Native Born Texan, I spent a lot of time when we were indoors wearing my Navy peacoat and layers of clothes while sitting by the heating vents, while the locals sat around in light sweaters eating kringle and drinking coffee.
I enjoy reading your postings about happenings in Alaska.
I used to be an oil rig mechanic in the mid 80’s in NE Texas when it was near 100F with almost as high humidity, totoally friggin miserable, I basically reached the limit with only a 30 degree increase above the standard normal 72F working temps. Just cannot work much unless the humidity goes down, so I went west and worked in 127F temps in Vegas at less than 10% humidity, doable.
But I can work in -50 temps as long as I have the clothing, a much further temperature spread. I can and do work in the range of zero to freezing without a coat for short periods as I wear hi tech thermal underwear, conversely I cannot realistically wear anything to fight the heat, so going cold was the logical decision. Most people I run across just simply cannot acclimate to sub zero temps while I know I can adapt to real summer temps in a couple of days.
So in ending this discussion living in the cold isn’t for everyone, usually the weaker folks complain and quit. Such as how many come to Alaska and not even through the six month long winter bail out and leave.
I worked on a workover rig in North Dakota in the 80s and had a great taskmaster of a boss who thought exactly as you do...he always said he preferred working the bitter Dakota winters to the heat of summer: “I can always put more clothes on, but I can only take so many off.”
The left side of the bell curve hates all of those things. It causes them painful feelings of envy. When the economy booms, they are exposed as losers. This isn't about the climate, it's about treating their envy via the destruction of all things that cause their envy.
I say you can work better in extreme cold than extreme. Heat........it is ac in the south and southwest.....people do not go out in the extreme heat...the warming there talking about is a few degrees....
Why didn’t I think of that?
Don’t worry.
Our “lord & savior” Obama (see the Jamie Foxx quote on the Drudge Report) has been studying on it for years.
These Governments spent Billion$ (if not Trillion$ in today's dollars) to fund a hoax. Clearly now the evidence points to a mini Ice Age not global warming. This shows socialism/government doesn't work.
What are all these liberals and stupid brainwashed public going to say now when we see cooling coming in the following years? Yes it is the sun that determines climate on Earth not CO2 . But of course they chose to blame CO2 BECAUSE capitalism and specifically American industry (oil and coal) produced CO2 not because it was any science.
So now they are trying to change it to “climate change” ( “Oh did we say global warming for 20 years well we meant climate change”) . So they got lightbulbs banned for a hoax. and only a few of us on the Internet see the truth.
The media and governments have brainwashed the public so that now 68% believe the “science” of global warming. We live in a false reality created by the media. Also all this global warming “science’ should lead us to question other government funded science.
Decades of government funding a hoax to shows that government/socialism doesn't work.
You’re, right! You can always layer up, but when you get down to bare skin you can’t readily peel off much more ;-)
Rasmussen Reports found that an all-time high of 68% of likely U.S. voters are certified morons, 38% of them are borderline idiots. There, fixed it.

Sorry, I’m sooo F**** sick of the winter!! I’d rather blister in the sun than freeze my ****s off in the cold!!!
