Meh, as I frequently tell the Libbie relatives (if I ever hit the jackpot),

“I love ya, but I’m sure going to miss ya”.

Darn, I was going to play those exact numbers, but I forgot.

Every dime you throw into this waste basket feeds the beast.

Until you win...

With that kind of money, I could pay most of my bills!

After Obamaflation, that might buy a cartful of groceries, if you skip the meat department.

Five numbers scores one million bucks. Not a bad return.

If someone here on FR wins they should fund FR for their own lifetime.
Even after the marxist scum drive us underground.
But in the end we will prevail.

Buying lottery tickets is a complete waste of time and money.

Tell that to all the lottery winners.

Lump-sum payout, looking at in the neighborhood of $145M cash after taxes. Worth the $2 just for the entertainment value of dreaming about having that kind of scratch.

It is not a “return” in the usual sense of the word. Dumping money into a State lottery is not an investment. It is a destructive act of idiocy.

Do you use toll roads or take the alternate route?

Anyone who does is a fool and I lose a tiny but finite amount of respect for anyone who does.

When I buy my ticket at lunch I'll give the loss of your respect for me the attention that it deserves.

Not analogous.

If I perceive the benifit to driving on a tollway exceeds the cost I take the tollway. And the bulk of the tolls are used to maintain the road (generally speaking).

There is no benefit to dumping money into a lottery and virtually all the proceeds are wasted (at best) or used against us (at worst) by the beast.
