Exclusive: Jeb Bush Meets with Former Aides near White House (NO!)
National Review Online ^ | November 26, 2012 | Robert Costa

Posted on 11/26/2012 3:36:01 PM PST by Timber Rattler

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush met Monday with a group of his former staffers at the J. W. Marriott hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue, just steps from the White House. Bush, a potential 2016 presidential contender, spent an hour in the hotel’s Cannon room, reminiscing and entertaining questions about his political future.

In an interview with NRO, Bush did not rule out a presidential run. “I am here to catch up with folks and promote education reform,” he said, smiling.

When asked again whether he will issue a Sherman-type statement about his future, Bush remained coy. “We have an alumni group that I like keeping in touch with,” he said. “I’m here to focus on educational reform, and that’s what I’m going to tell people.”

Neil Newhouse, Mitt Romney’s campaign pollster, among other GOP operatives, was at the meeting.

On Tuesday, Bush will host a national summit on education reform. Education secretary Arne Duncan, former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, and Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, among others, will speak at the event.

Dream on—ain’t gonna happen. We must work within the framework we already have but I am so pessimistic at this point that I don’t want any one of these Republicans. Why would they want to go through all this just to lose? They’re all nuts if they think they can defeat the press, the fraud, the idiot voters and the “third party” deserters.

Well, you can stay with the GOP-E and keep on getting the same results and treatment. Acting like an abused spouse and coming back for more is NOT an option for Conservatives anymore.

And you're going to do what? Start a new 3rd party when there are already plenty of 3rd party's to pick from? What happened to all the folks that talked up the Constitution Party? How did that go? It went nowhere. As of right now the Constitution Party didn't even get .1% of the vote. Heck, Roseanne Barr got over half as many votes as they did.

3rd party's do not work in our winner take all system that does not allow for coalition government. Even Ron Paul figured that out. Heck, the LaRouchies even know this which is why they run as Democrats. You can shake your fist in the air and scream till your vocal chords burst, but a 3rd party is not the answer. Even if the GOP was replaced by another party, it would simply become the 2nd leg of our 2 party system.

Has Hannity brought on “The Architect” to explain how Jeb is the most electable 2016 candidate yet?

Not sure about Jeb Bush’s plans. One thing that is fairly certain is that RINO types like Bush and Romney will run. Leftists like Hillary will run. We can’t control that. What conservatives can affect is recruiting better conservative personable candidates throughout government who can communicate and persuade. Right now I am not sure we have anyone lined up for President that can get it done.

I suppose Goldwater thought so.

Goldwater was a couple of elections ahead of his time. He'd have unprecedented support from the right today.

Education reform? Didn't W reform education during his eight years with No Child Left Behind. Everybody reforms education, but nothing much goes up except education budgets.

He’ll get big corporate, finance money. Rent seekers and Tory/Whig mercantlists wanting their hunk of Fedgov pork.

But first we have to be researched so that they know what conservative boob bait buttons to push.
