TORRANCE, Calif. (KABC) -- A Torrance pedestrian was killed after being struck by an allegedly drunk driver, who drove for blocks with the dying man on the hood of the car.
Phillip Moreno, 31, had just left a bar around 11:30 p.m. when he was struck Saturday as he crossed the street at Torrance Boulevard and Madrid Avenue.
Police said the man ended up on the hood of the car and partly through the windshield. The driver carried him for blocks before stopping near Crenshaw Boulevard and 182nd Street, where witnesses waved the suspect's car down after seeing the body on the car.
Moreno was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, identified as 51-year-old Sherri Wilkins of Torrance, was arrested for driving under the influence and manslaughter. She was being held on $100,000 bail.
"Her blood-alcohol level on a preliminary screening device was more than twice the legal limit, so she was intoxicated," said Torrance Police Sgt. Robert Watt.
One person who did not want to be identified said Wilkins is his drug and alcohol counselor at Twin Town Treatment Center in Torrance.
In a strange twist, Wilkins apparently is also a counselor to one of her alleged victim's family members.

I remember this very same thing happening about 7 to 10 yrs. ago. Black woman hit a man, he was stuck in the windshield dying and asking for help. She drove the car home, put in the garage and left him there to die. IIRC.
I also remember that. Dying in her garage stuck in the windshield.
It was really gruesome to hear all of what she did and ignored.Not sure what happened the next day.
The victim had just left “The Branch Office”— a local watering hole.
I remember this as well.
I got infuriated when I found out that Hollywood cretins made a movie based on this—(”Stuck”), BUT, of course, in typical Hollywood fashion, the movie’s driver of the car was a WHITE woman instead of a BLACK woman as it was in the actual case.
No, no, no...Blacks must ALWAYS be portrayed as the “presidents”, or the brilliant CEOs, or GOD (Morgan Freeman), or the ones who save the day!

Well at least this newest one was a white woman driver, victim? So now that movie is the REAL TRUE STORY.
