Frustrated Republican leaders took a swipe Tuesday at President Obama, reminding him “the election is over” as he opts for a campaign-style strategy to sell his tax-hike proposal to middle-class America and small business owners – rather than deal face-to-face with Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
The president met last week with House Speaker John Boehner at the White House and spoke with him over the weekend. But as members of Congress return this week to Washington, Obama is instead hosting a series of events aimed at selling his plan while pressuring Republicans to extend tax cuts only to families earning $250,000 or less annually, which amounts to a tax hike on high-income families. “The target of the president’s rallies should be the congressional Democrats who want to raise tax rates on small businesses rather than cut spending,” Boehner spokesman Mike Steel said Tuesday.
The president has invited small-business owners from across the country to meet Tuesday at the White House to discuss the impact of his tax policies on small businesses.
Among the 15 invited are Nikhil Arora, co-founder of Back to the Roots, west Oakland; David Bolotsky, chief executive officer of Uncommon Goods, New York; and Mandy Cabot, co-founder of Dansko, West Grove, Pa.

Our problem is not that the government doesn't get enough money. That is NOT the problem.
I agree however, I think the GOP should promote some wedge issues such as some of the more juicy labor union benefits.
Put the Obama care postponements given to the Labor Unions on the table and force the Dems to make the tough choices.

The GOP has had innumerable opportunities to explain their position on TV, 20 primary debates, a grueling campaign season in which the lower taxes, lower spending message was repeated over and over again.
It's not time for politicking. It IS time to make the deal. But Ozero hates to site down and make the deal because he is TERRIBLE at it so he's off and running again.

Obama wants to impoverish America and destroy the economy so he can socially engineer US society from the ashes.
Whatever works to further destroy America, that is what Obama is for.

There is only ONE WAY for the Republicans to avoid taking the blame for whatever happens and that is to vote “present” on Obama’s plan. Let him own it, lock, stock, and barrel. Anything else they could do would be tinkering at the margins, anyway. Do it now so the lame ducks can take the heat. You KNOW Obama is setting this up to win back the House in 2014.

Obamugabe is campaigning...and we need to stick it to him just like the Demonrats stuck it to Dubya after the 2004 election.
In 2005, Dubya did his damndest to get a fix to Social Security. He did town halls, worked with the public, etc.
And Nazi Pelosi shut him down...and turned him into a bad guy. We need to do that to Obamugabe.

I agree with you regarding the media. Doesn’t have to be done with media cooperation...but it has to keep the 48-49% of the people who voted Republican happy.
Allowing Obamugabe to control the entire conversation is a disaster. That CAN be thwarted...follow him, hit every town he hits a day later...tell the story he refuses to tell.

I'm talking about media HOSTILITY.
They actively seek to destroy the GOP message. I don't know who you want to tail Obama to every town. But that person would be laughed at as a dunce and would give Obama even more political capital.
America wants Obama. America deserves Obama. Get out of the way, and let America have Obama. The primary job of Republicans for the next four years is to make sure Americans have all the Obama they can stand. Shove him down America’s throat.
