An Ex-Democrat is equal to an ex-con.

Herman Cain should run in the primary against Chambliss!

As I posted on the RedState site, I will not vote for Chambliss under any circumstances—even if Cynthia McKinney is the Democratic nominee.

In 2008, I held my nose and voted for Saxby “but, who will pick our crops” Chambliss the Dems having a filibusterer proof senate majority. It didn’t make a darned bit of difference.

Meanwhile, Chambliss has been part of every “gang of...” and spent his time in the senate undermining conservative goals. Chambliss talks conservative on the campaign trail, but in the senate cuts the legs out from under conservative bills.

GA is about as red as it gets now. The state legislature is now overwhelmingly GOP.

The reason Chambliss was in a runoff last time was conservatives were upset that Chambliss wasn’t conservative enough, so they sat out the general election.

Run a hard-line conservative, and they’ll win handily.

Run Chambliss (or a moderate Republican) and the seat might go the to Democrats.

Grover Norquist for President!

um, IMHO ... you should do some more extensive reading on norquist. While his tax position is in line with fiscal conservatism, he is completely lacking in social conservatism (GAYpride) and national defense conservatism (Islamic apologist) and stealthily with David Keene he has been an enemy of authentic conservatism from within.

We are at war... you need to give up all of those old ideas. Either we win and America is saved or all of this will turn to rage in the streets and the end of the republic.

Maybe some rage in the streets will be useful. Remember what Jefferson said about the "tree of liberty." And maybe it'll take some uppitiness to save the republic.

Is there a likely conservative candidate to implement your scenario? I don’t know Georgia, but I’d guess that the strongest challenger would be a conservative Republican now serving in the House — but that such a Representative might be reluctant to give up a fairly safe House seat.

Someone mentioned Eric Erickson. The ideal challenger would be someone better than Erickson in terms of having a record — in elective office, in a high rank in the military, or in running a major business.

What do you think are the prospects?

If he hadn’t been tarnished by the Gloria Allred stuff, I would suggest Herman Cain.

I’m going to write a letter to Lynn Westmoreland to encourage him to challenge Chambliss for his spot in 2014.

I believe that the best option is to allow the Democrat Party to continue committing suicide and the Republicrat Party to die an unnatural death. It needs to be replaced by a true, Red White and Blue Party that is strongly Constitutional right wing and will suck off the voters from the two disgraceful parties.
