I live in a remote area... I qualify as lower, lower class... I have a generator... as well as many of my poor neighbors... That jack donkey making a statement that only wealthy have generators... is BS!
I wish I’d hooked the TV up to a pedal powered generator during the time my kids were attending Elementary and High Schools. It’d be good for the kids to well know what it takes to generate 100W.
It has nothing to do with the poor. It’s the tried and true leftist (commie) tactic of making the malleable and stupid believe that someone enjoys some privlege or advantage that they unfairly do not. No brutal dictator ever came to power by claiming to be a brutal dictator. In every case they come to power by telling some group that they are the victims of some other group, and by telling them that it they are brought to power that they will right some terrible wrong done to them. The previous poster who mentioned the Kulaks is spot on. That’s why nobody who has graduated from our public school system in the past 40 years has heard of them.
Same thing here. I live in a relatively rural area, not too many wealthy people. It’s mostly lower to lower-middle class. But people around here recognize the reality of living in an Eastern NC town with ancient grids and prioritize. Around here, generators are a priority. You don’t have to be wealthy to afford a generator. Kristoff could sacrifice his daily $4 latte and make up the cost right there. Sheesh.
I pay a lot to have my generator serviced yearly.
Take my generator and kill jobs.
we bought our first generator back when we were still struggling financially.
We might be considered “rich” by now - but only by Obama.
It has been tough keeping up with heating oil,gas prices, and medical expenses - buy hey, rich is whatever they say it is.
Anyways...some folks go off and get a nice big flat screen. Some get fancy phones.
We went and got a generator that cost less than many video game systems.
I am always amazed at how incredibly stupid these “well respected” economists and columnists are.
