'Jailed SAS sniper Danny Nightingale has walked free from court after his sentence was suspended following a successful appeal.
Sergeant Nightingale was given 18 months military detention earlier this month after he admitted illegally possessing a Glock 9mm pistol and more than 300 rounds of ammunition.
Now judges at the Court Martial Appeal Court in London said his sentence would be cut to 12 months and suspended. They said he could be released immediately.'

Yeah, because an SAS guy just can’t be trusted with things that could hurt people.
Silly Brits
John Doe, citizen of England, would still be in the clink. Notice they didn't say he didn't commit a "crime", they just decided not to give him any further punishment for it.
Can’t have trained snipers having guns. The elites could be in danger.
What do call a Glock 9mm and 300 rounds of ammo?
A nice day of competative shooting.
Britain needs another “Tea Party”, closer to home.
(don’t we all?)
Exactly.
SIX boxes? No big deal.
Easily fits in one ammo can.
Now how many of those do I have? hmmmmm
The far left fringe in our country wishes that the United States had laws like this. Thank God our Founding Fathers had the foresight to at least partially protect us from petty (and not so petty) tyrants.
Did I miss something? Who was the victim of this crime?
Decent weapon with an anemic ammo supply.
You can’t have too much ammo unless it sinks your boat, keeps your airplane grounded, or cracks your slab.
Half the contents, by weight, of my ex-wife's purse?
Oh no another boating accident!
“cracks your slab.”
Just great. Now you tell us.
LOL.
While out at Bass Pro Shop on Black Friday (it was 11:30 AM - no crowds really) I picked up several .50 cal boxes for $10 ea. - new.
I just couldn’t resist ‘em.
That and a couple Leatherman tools on sale for my boys.
BTW I screwed up on FB somehow and gotta re-friend you and a bunch of others. Not sure what I did. My daughter, my FaceBook advisor, just laughs at me.
Just great. Now you tell us.
Ah, just reading this -- I suppose the slab your house is built on? The one in the cellar where the Dillon loading press is located?
Hey AB,if that’s yours how to you like it. I don’t know much about Glocks, the receiver looks polymer just how light is it loaded? and is it double stack.
day? i’d have that gone before lunch time.
A starter package
A variation on an old Navy pilot’s saying: “The only time you have too much fuel is when you’re on fire.” Well, the only time you have too much ammo is if/when your house is on fire.
