Barack? I Hope He Succeeds (in Going Over the Cliff)!

RUSH: It is my contention to you the Democrat Party want tax increases for everybody. They're not gonna say so, but they do. Going over the cliff is a win. Obama gets to raise taxes, which, by the way, include tax increases on the middle class. You have to make a pretense of paying for the welfare state. He does want more revenue, but not to balance budgets. He wants more revenue to spend it so he doesn't have borrow as much. By the way, you know what's next folks? Keep a sharp eye. There are Democrats already talking about all the money collectively in everybody's 401(k)s. There are Democrats already talking about all the money that's in all these pension plans out there. The Democrat Party is already getting wide-eyed over the possibility of literally commandeering the funds in everybody's combined 401(k)s.

This cliff business is the tip of the iceberg. Their plans include far more than going over the cliff. They need the money for their welfare state. Their welfare state is what keeps them entrenched in power. Their welfare state, Santa Claus is what secures votes for them. The welfare state is what guarantees a permanent underclass, which they need. So we go over the cliff. It's a win. Everybody's taxes go up. You need that revenue, pay for your welfare state. In addition, what else happens? You get cuts in the military. You don't think the Democrats like that? The Democrats can't wait for military cuts, defense cuts. My whole life, that's the only thing they want to cut, and here it is just waiting for them. It's already done.

All we have to do is go over the cliff. Nobody has to even make a proposal. Nobody has to even offer legislation. Nobody has to even pass, much less vote, on anything. It's already there. Defense cuts, tax increases, it's there. It's their Christmas morning. They can see it. All we gotta do is go over the cliff. And as far as Obama's concerned, he gets to blame the Republicans for all of this after it happens. It doesn't matter if there's any real blame to give them or not, the way the media and the Democrat Party work in tandem, you know what's gonna happen. We go over the cliff, "Well, the Republicans didn't deal with us. Well, the Republicans wouldn't agree. Well, the Republicans objected. Well, the Republicans this."

Yeah. Folks, that's gonna continue happening no matter what the Republicans do until somebody comes along and figures a way to stuff that back down the Democrats' throats. Until somebody comes along and figures out how to stuff it back down the media's throats and the Democrat Party's throats, the Republican Party is gonna get blamed for everything no matter what they do. My point is Obama wants the cliff. But let's pretend that I'm wrong. And let's say that he really doesn't want to go over the cliff. Let's say that he really doesn't really want a recession in his second term. Let's say that I'm dead wrong. Then the way to handle that, the way to call his bluff on this is to not negotiate with him and leave it totally up to him what happens.

Very publicly walk away from the talks so that whatever happens vis-a-vis the cliff is perceived to happen -- well, the real point will be to flush Obama out. Find out. I would suggest to people who really believe Obama is concerned about his second term and his legacy, he doesn't want a recession, the only way to flush that out is to come dangerously close to allowing it all to happen, and the way you do that is by pulling out of the negotiations and offer no resistance. My only point is if the Republicans offer no resistance to what Obama wants, we'll find out just how willing he is to take the country over the cliff.

All I'm saying is, is that all these people saying he doesn't want to take us over the cliff, he's worried about his second term legacy, he doesn't want two million new unemployed, he doesn't want that written about him, let's find out. You can't find out by negotiating with him. Do that and you're gonna get played for a fool. That is my theory. Look, before the election, a number of us were of the belief that we're headed for a second recession anyway, a double-dip, right? Because of policies already in play and because of the reluctance to modify any of them to fix what harm they're causing. He'd love to be able to say that this coming recession is the fault of the Republicans. My point is he's going to anyway. My point is the Democrats are going to anyway.

So prove me wrong. I could be very wrong. Maybe Obama does care about his second term. Maybe he does care about his legacy. Maybe he doesn't want a whole bunch of new unemployment. Maybe doesn't want a recession. One sure way of finding out is to let him own this, let him take us wherever we're headed. He once said that the Republicans drove the car in the ditch, right? That we're not qualified to drive. Okay, fine. Take him at his word. We get out of the car, we'll pull it out of the ditch, put him in the driver's seat, we'll wave, and he'll see us in the rearview mirror as he heads toward the cliff. And we'll see if he stops or goes over. Do we have the courage to do that? I don't know that we'll ever find out, but that's what I would do. But I'm just a radio guy.

RUSH: Snerdley is saying, "Well, you stepped in it now."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I can see it now. You're gonna take your Christmas vacation. You're gonna be gone. Something's gonna happen. Whatever happens, you're gonna get blamed, and you're gonna be on vacation. The media is gonna be blaming you; Obama's gonna blaming you. It's gonna be: The Republicans failed to make a deal because they're afraid of you."

I said, "Wait a second! How can I be blamed? I am advocating for Obama to get what he wants. How can I possibly be blamed for that? I'm saying, let Obama take this country where he wants to take it. Let's find out where that is. 'Cause there are some people who still don't get it."

People keep forgetting that not only is the “fiscal cliff” giving them what they want anyway,

but also that a total economic collapse fits right into their plans as well.

They should also say “If you want to know who to blame besides the president, we can give you the names of the 12 senators who came up with this crap.”

As Sean Hannity and Mark Levin have said repeatedly, the “fiscal cliff” that we would supposedly have on Jan. 1 is not really the fiscal cliff we have to fear. That “fiscal cliff” represents only 3% of the entire budget and has been extremely overstated among the political hysteria.

The real fiscal cliff is what’s going to happen if we keep spending like a drunken sailor until we become Greece.

IMHO, we’re better going off the fictional “fiscal cliff” so that ZERO’s policies affect things sooner rather than later. That way, he can take most of the flak for rising unemployment and sure increases in inflation. It will then become much more obvious to even the uneducated, ignorant fools that ZERO has no clue about curing the economy.

“ZERO has no clue about curing the economy”

He has absolutely zero DESIRE to “cure” the economy.

He has a different vision for “after” the collapse than you or I do.

I think we are better off without a “deal” probably

Absolutely!

Notice how ALL the attention of the Democrat "mainstream" news media is focused on what the Republicans will "give up"; what the Republicans will relent on; what the Republicans will cave on? NOT... ONE... WORD... about what Ubama and the rats are willing to give up, or cave on, or offer, to get a deal done. NO MATTER WHAT the Republicans do, the newsrooms will blame them for BOTH any spending "cuts" to the military and the socialist welfare state AND any tax hikes. The rats are at risk for NOTHING. Talk about a lose/lose situation for the GOP.... Whew.

Absolutely the best thing that can happen is to go over the "fiscal cliff". The Republicans at this point should be strategizing how to make sure Ubanga and the rats catch as much of the blame as possible. The PR game starts YESTERSDAY for the Republicans, and they are already playing catch-up - - the rats have been working on it all along.

By the way, an added bonus to failing to cave to the rats and strike a deal is that the GOP House can then wrap the upcoming debt ceiling debate around Ubanga's neck.

I agree with you, but the way to hang the blame over ZERO and the Rats is to strike a deal in the House that’s impossible for ZERO to agree to, such as proposing the continuing of the Bush tax cuts AND an additional tax decrease for the middle class.

That way, ZERO has to say no to tax cuts for the middle class.

Wouldn’t that be deliciously sweet?

All the Republicans have to say is, “since Obama won the election we have decided to honor the bill he signed into law called the Budget Control Act of 2011. We do not think the country needs a long drawn out argument about a law President Obama signed just last year.”

Never thought I'd say this, but, yes, that's the answer.

...”Let’s say that he really doesn’t really want a recession in his second term.”....

Um, Rush, we NEVER got out of the crash and recession that started in 2008. The numbers coming from the Feds, the BLS and other agencies cannot be trusted. The media have lied, the Obama Mafia lies, the economy has not recovered.

I say, let it go over the “cliff”. Let the democrat party and the media own it, and all the Obamabots.
