It is an awful thing to envision the non-illegal distribution of narcotics on Main St. But people also need to be realistic about the arguably corrupt nature of the “war on drugs”, and whether or not it’s benefiting society.

I’m not a drug user, and I’m not for homosexual marriage. I’m not for slaughtering nascent life. And I’m not sure how the govt has improved upon any of these concerns.

We now have law on the books that will facilitate the persecution of those that refuse to support homosexual activity. What has DOMA done to prevent that?

Conservatism is the best societal model, but its implementation seems to require a degree of statism that’s proving to backfire. We’d be better off with sweeping repeal, and a conservative movement that is more aligned with libertarianism than statism.

FWIW, I’m not talking about the Libertarian Party’s idiotic agenda.

Have you ever been to Vancouver, B.C.? They did a huge beautiful redevelopment project, called, “Gas Town”. Then they set up drug clinics, where users could get free drugs. The whole area just reverted to the same mess of druggies and street walkers and the tourists stopped going there.
