It could be a gold mine for boat owners. Rent out your boat to FEMA for 1k a day and have it trashed.

yeah, just wait for the section 8 tenants who are crapping in the hallways of those highrises to figure out that boat toilets don’t work and there is no water aboard during winter. Seriously as a cold weather winter liveaboard many days the only thing you can do is wrap up and huddle below so you do not freeze.

Been there tried that!

seriously I cannot believe FEMA is even considering “small boats” as a housing option for a northeast winter!

Sort of related...a good friend of mine was a heavy haul trucker back during Katrina. He told me about FEMA paying him $1800/day to sit and wait for orders. He said they basically had a 24/7 party going at some of the big truck stops...occasionally get orders to pack up and move a couple hundred miles then start the party back up.
