Do they have to pass a test or can they just sit there? Yes, they have to pass a test. The center volunteers never assume that clients have gained knowledge--we make damn sure they do. If clients cannot definitively demonstrate that they have learned from a particular lesson/class, the class must be repeated before points can be earned. Most of the clients have jobs, but they are low-paying and generally part time. Clients can earn points by continuing their education, and if the client does this a C average must be maintained.
