City Attorney of Bankrupt San Bernardino: 'Lock Your Doors and Load Your Guns'
Breitbart ^ | 11/30/12 | Bretibart News

Posted on 11/30/2012 11:06:55 AM PST by Nachum

City attorney of San Bernardino Jim Penman had the audacity to tell the truth to the residents of bankrupt San Bernardino at a recent city council meeting. Taking stock of the fact that San Bernardino’s murder rate has jumped 50 percent over the last year, that the city has been cutting its police force by about 80 officers, and that there is no good news in sight, Penman stated, “lock your doors and load your guns.” He stands by the statement today, explaining, “you should say what you mean and mean what you say.”

Penman continued, “Let’s be honest, we don’t have enough police officers. We have too many criminals living in this city. We have had 45 murders this year…that’s far too high for a city of this size …. I’m not advocating that people go out, who don’t have any training, and buy firearms. I certainly strongly caution anyone who has children at home not to have a loaded gun in the house.”

Communities are going to have to revert to a citizen constabulary. Local folks need to patrol and report problems to a cadre of volunteer cops. If it works for fire departments, why not policing?

Eric Holder would like a word with you, watch for the drone.

The law. The law, both criminal and civil sue-on-behalf of the criminal, is stacked against private citizen actions. Any mistake--bankruptcy or worse for those who will be called vigilantes.

I’ll give him that fig leaf of liability coverage. I think people can read between the lines. I give him credit for speaking the truth and not backing down.

San Bernadino...population 209,000...45 murders in about 11 months.

New York....population about 8 million...193 murders from 1/1/12 to 6/30/12

I'm no math whiz but it seems that NYC came out first in this contest....by a wide margin.

Whats wrong with teaching your children the right and wrongs of using and owning a gun? What a moron! I guess knives, forks, baseball bats, frying pans, stoves, coffee pots, etc... should not be in the house either!

Right, because taxes aren't for maintaining a police force or providing other needed government services - they're for paying out lavish pension benefits for retired government bureaucrats. CALPers is suing San Bernadino to make sure they remember that.

Because your children aren’t worth defending, right?

One of the fastest spending as well, apparently.

how do you protect a family with small kids if you don’t have a gun, ie a weapon of equal force the bad guys kicking in your door are armed with?

San Bernardino used to be a place where conservative working class blue collar whites could live in peace. It has been overrun by Obama voters, section 8 housing, and meth labs.

Sad to see what has happened there.

That's probably true, but the entire 'fig leaf' concept is as demoralizing as it is transparent.

What I mean to say is that while 'wink wink' may well be implicitly understood, the environment in which 'wink wink' is deemed necessary is the absolute antithesis of freedom and truth.

apology in advance if the above exhibits an overwhelming grasp of the obvious and/or is beating a poor dead horse
