City attorney of San Bernardino Jim Penman had the audacity to tell the truth to the residents of bankrupt San Bernardino at a recent city council meeting. Taking stock of the fact that San Bernardino’s murder rate has jumped 50 percent over the last year, that the city has been cutting its police force by about 80 officers, and that there is no good news in sight, Penman stated, “lock your doors and load your guns.” He stands by the statement today, explaining, “you should say what you mean and mean what you say.”
Penman continued, “Let’s be honest, we don’t have enough police officers. We have too many criminals living in this city. We have had 45 murders this year…that’s far too high for a city of this size …. I’m not advocating that people go out, who don’t have any training, and buy firearms. I certainly strongly caution anyone who has children at home not to have a loaded gun in the house.”

All the more reason that you need a gun, protect your kids against the lawlessness and incompetence of government local, county, state and national at all level that spend and spend on "social programs" for the "poor (including gang-bangers from South of the Border here illegally) rather than spending on their first priority -- protect the citizenry from enemies both foreign and domestic.
Because then you will need to pay someone to protect you from your government.
Actually, in San Bernardino, there is one murder per 4600 residents. In NYC there is one murder for every 20000 people. That tells me that San Berdoo is far more dangerous. I lived in downtown San Bernardino for 6 months in the mid 80s, in the Golden Eagle and Sunshine Hotels. It was a dangerous place then. I haven’t been there since, but I imagine it’s far worse.
I worded my post badly....the stats I noted say to me that San Bernadino is far more dangerous than NYC.

Far better that said children be raped, mutilated, and then shot, rather than risk an accidental shooting by a child. After all, that is why we allowed all those illegal aliens into America from Messico and Central America, isn’t it?
