Obama orders CIA to closedown multi-billion dollar unit

Regardless of the fact that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had already possessed a multi-billion dollar intelligence center for global warming, a new report by public-interest group Judicial Watch's blog claims that the Obama administration believed the nation’s intelligence community needed yet another taxpayer-funded entity to better determine the impact of climate change on U.S. national security.
"This waste of money is even more shameful when you consider millions and millions of Americans out of work or losing their homes and here's 'Mr. Green Jeans' Obama spending money to duplicate what's already being done by his own government and the private sector," said political consultant Mike Baker.

"No one really knows what goes on in the exclusive unit because it operates under a cloak of secrecy that rejects all public-records requests, despite President Obama’s promise to run a transparent government. What we do know is that the unit is led by senior specialists,” the JW blogger noted.

We can’t stop terrorists from boarding planes with explosive bloomers, but the CIA had assets sufficient to monitor Arctic ice and look for signs of global warming?
The only time in near on four years I can agree with the president. Makes me wonder what his ulterior motive might be.

My suspicion is that the intel the unit was putting together was disproving the global warming theory, rather than expanding on it.

They probably got a list of sunspot activity...if the sun doesn't produce a few more sunspots this cycle then at best we can expect is a 400 year long mini ice age.
That certainly could be. Or ... he starts a multi-billion dollar secret project that isn't required to report to anyone. How do we know it ever hired anyone? Just a manager to funnel the money where 0bama wanted it. Now 0bama shuts it down and says "See!?! I cut some spending."
...after making everyone feeeeeel good about lowering the oceans a few years before an election. No real need for it now. (But, on the other hand, didn't Hussein steer hurricane Sandy straight into the NY/NJ area in order to flood the entire region just to look good? I'm sure the CIA knew all along.)
