President Obama: Identifying priorities for a second-term ‘black agenda’
The Washington Post ^ | November 29, 2012 | Rahiel Tesfamariam

While President Obama has been a unifying force in the black community during his first term in office, his presidency has also fueled deep divisions among many African Americans. The president’s first-term policies sparked heated debates among a host of well-known black intellectuals and political observers who argue that the president has ignored the issues of his most loyal base.

These tensions will likely remain throughout Obama’s second term unless he quickly reverses course.

Critics, such as Cornel West and Tavis Smiley, will likely continue to press Obama to address the needs of black America, while others will struggle to determine how to best capitalize on Obama's second term and get him to push forward a “black agenda.”

But what should this “payback” look like? Unlike other interest groups, such as gays and Hispanics, who responded positively to symbolic gestures from the president, African Americans appear as if they cannot come to an agreement on what a priority list should be. The community seems to lack a unifying issue that Obama could address. And we seem to also lack a clear strategy for implementing what those community-friendly policies might be.

But that doesn’t negate the president’s responsibility to address the concerns of black Americans and respond to their call for social policy that addresses their greatest needs. Indeed, there are a mix of specific issues that might delicately satisfy his most loyal followers. These direct policies could address the disproportionate loss of wealth among black families; a reinvigorated, targeted civil rights agenda; a more holistic approach to family cohesion; and a commitment to Africans around the globe...

"The ultimate goal would be to address the alarming incidents of police brutality, disproportionate incarceration rates, number of death penalty rulings and unfair sentencing laws related to black men and women. The appointment of judges and selection of jurors would also have to be better regulated."

In other words - ignore all criminal activity.

Just legalize stuff like this and everyone will be happy, right?

You got a problem with that? Well, you're a racist. </sarcasm>

He won’t do anything for blacks.

One thing I've noticed, post-"election," is the number of very sour-looking black women. I didn't see this after the 2008 election, but I'm seeing it now. These women look very, very unhappy.

Sounds to me like it’s time for a separation and divorce from black America. Besides, the white South Africans who are being genocided out of existence need a place to go (our current government is highly selective in allowing them asylum here, unlike Haitian HIV/AIDs carriers or violent, illiterate, unskilled Somalis, or leprosy-infected illegal aliens), especially considering that the US was complicit in their predicament and is completely indifferent to the slaughter to which they’re now subject. This is their payment for feeding, educating, giving medical care to, decreasing the infant mortality rate of, and increasing the longevity of, black South Africans.

White Americans need our own homeland in what is currently the US, where blacks won’t be subject to our oppressive evil racism and can flourish to their fullest potential-Detroit, South Africa under the ANC, Gary IN, etc-show the way. No more “white flight” with blacks forced to follow whites in order to be subjected to white oppression. No whites to hold blacks down and suppress their potential.

” African Americans face a unique set of social challenges,”

Name one bleeping unique challenge.

Poor? Others are poor too. Dark skin? Others have it. Bad schools? Everyone has them. There is nothing unique about any social challenges faced by blacks.

The worst problem in the black community is people having children they can’t care for. The community needs to put pressure on youth, shame even, to keep them from conceiving. Make it a goal of all blacks over 30 to keep their young from making babies until:

The couples are married
And one or both parents have a job.

Delegitimize gangsta culture and crime. Praise hard workers and good students. Play down the cool playa meme. Cool = not caring. Keep telling the you g that not caring might be “cool” but cool is not good and cool keeps our people down. The pants down literally shackles our boys!

Encourage your teens to graduate high school, preferably self home schooled on line, and then live with mom, supported by her, but working as an intern for someone you’d like to “be .” For a contractor, a body shop, an insurance co, a doctor, anything the kid wishes. If no internship exists formally, write up the contract yourself.

There are no unique challenges socially for blacks.
