you do need maturity to pick the right mate for life, which is why parents used to do the picking.
The article misses this point.
I agree that it’s better for people to marry young, but only if they are not doing the picking, but instead their parents are who have the maturity to know who is the right person for their child to marry.
I had to chuckle at your post, TexasFreeper. If my Mom had her way, I wouldn’t have married my husband (of 22 years). I wouldn’t have had the three wonderful children I have now. To be quite honest, the guy she wanted me to marry.. well, it wouldn’t have worked out. He may have been the right “son in law” for her BUT he wouldn’t have been the right husband for me. Just my opinion.
