“It’s sad to watch people who had what it took to overcome the legacy of slavery create a worse legacy of welfareism. Their liberty has been given up cheaply.”

Pose this philosophical question: “Would you rather have freedom or happiness?” Choose one or the other. Most here would immediately choose the former.

I didn’t really understand the complaint of some that “`utilitarianism’ is a doctrine worthy of swine” until recently.

“First, a tight p***y; second, loose shoes; and third, a warm place to s***.”
From the wit and wisdom of former secretary Earl Butts

Once those EBT cards stop working and people stop accepting the vouchers, etc., there’s gonna be hell to pay.

Earl Butz earned the eternal hatred of millions of small family farmers when he said “get big or get out,” and led to the rise of major agribusiness corporations, and the declining financial stability of the small family farm.

I know my family surely did and it led many to pull the lever for Carter in ‘76. Just to get rid of him and his “Big Farm” corporation policies.

Not to get entrenched in philosophy, but I suggest that without liberty, happiness is an illusion.
