Nederland police say a homeowner with a gun was able to stop an intruder who was armed with a knife late Saturday evening.
Officers say it happened in the 100 block of Avenue D just before midnight. A man, woman and child were at home when they heard someone breaking into the house through a glass French door. The homeowner confronted the intruder and fired one shot. Police say the intruder was not hit by the bullet.
Officers arrived shortly after the confrontation and arrested the intruder.
Assistant Chief of Police Gary Porter tells 12 News the man's name is withheld pending arraignment, but did say the intruder is a 38-year-old male. The man was charged with burglary of a habitation, but charges could be upgraded.
No one was injured in the home invasion.
Bob Costas and his pal, whatever the moron’s name is, would have just wet themselves and cowered in the corner.

The arrestee will be charged as follows:
1. Breaking and Entering, at Night
2. B&E while armed
3. At 38, he probably has a record which means a possisble parole and/or probation violation. Perhaps a 3 time loser, which means serious time.
4. Pissing in his pants in public.
If he hadn’t found God before this, he probably did now when the homeowner shot (and missed, a miracle or just enough to send a serious message, don’t break into my house you dumb ass).
As for Bob Costas and wetting his pants, that’s what DEPENDS are for. Why doesn’t someone send him a dozen or two?

If I could make law, this particular homeowner and those like him would be immediately arrested, and sentenced without trial.
Minimum sentence: thirty days; two hours a day, practice at the nearest gun range.
No way should someone who actively and aggressively threatens to kill your family in your own home, should still be breathing.
