Here are the rules.
Candidates file for office. There are primaries for the two parties. The winner of that primary moves to the general. There are usually four or five candidates on the ballot for the general election. The two major parties get 95-99% of the vote in almost all elections. That's because the voters decide that is the case. If people actually wanted 3rd parties outside of a protest vote, those third parties may win some of those races. Voters aren't buying what they are selling.
Not one 3rd party pushers has explained to me HOW they can win. "If's" aren't good enough.

“Winning”via the ballot box???? You’re still stuck in an illusion pal. Who casts the votes decides NOTHING, it’s who STEALS and COUNTS the votes that decide the outcome.
But I guess for cognitive dissonant sufferers like yourself - if the People’s Red Army invaded and conquered us by force of arms, you would still deceive yourself and insist that voting the way you always have in the past - will save you.
