(I’m not convinced, no matter what the law says, that a record isn’t being kept of every background check and firearm transaction by some shadowy government agency. So if the day ever comes where some registration or confiscations scheme is passed, that agency will suddenly “discover” that, oops, those records didn’t get destroyed like they were suppose too and they still have a record of every transaction that went through NICS).

The plethora of firearms in the hands of citizens is a double edged sword, but probably has a net positive result.

There is no corresponding spike in gun crime because these are mostly bought by and for law abiding citizens.
