And what happens when young people have nothing to do and are bored out of their skulls? They take to the streets in packs looking for things to destroy and innocent people to hurt.

Obama Job Approval

Approve Disapprove	Spread
51.8%	45.7% +6.1%

People are obviously happy with what they are getting.

The schools are churning out people with limited skills in reading, writing and arithmetic. These are people who do not understand that education should be valued.
The economy is blocking people from gaining job skills, a work ethic, or an appreciation for self-sufficiency.

Once lost, these skills are not easily regained by a society. Look at Haiti. Do the people there behave in a way that can build a successful society? No, they do not. Why didn't their parents raise them with the skills to build a successful society? Well, because the parents didn't have the skills either. Now it's pretty hopeless.

We are a banana republic.

Or they turn to politics to address their needs and demand government create jobs for them with NRA 2.0. (since Obama has managed to keep them engaged through 2 election cycles I think this likely)

And just when is “since WW II”? Do you mean during the depression? I started high school in 1938, and I always had a job. Then, after I graduated from high school in 1942, here were lots of jobs available because the men were being drafted, so I worked till the war was over and I had enough money to go to college. After the war ended, there was a boom in jobs, and I worked all through college.

I don’t see much difference today. If you want a job, there is always one available. My granddaughter had two jobs last summer, and she is now a senior in high school.

What makes people think that these youngens actually want to work in the first place?? Sorry I just don’t see it that way, what I see is a bunch of spoiled brats who have been taught their whole lives that they are special and entitled, they can all DIE IN THE STREET as far as I am concerned. I just Don’t Care Anymore.

The answer is clear — time for another $10 billion, federally-funded jobs program to get these kids make-work jobs.
