Boehner faces conservative backlash over tax proposal, even as Dems resist offer (RINO traitor)

Conservatives in both chambers are already starting to pounce on House Speaker John Boehner's fiscal crisis counter-proposal, in a sign of the political risk the speaker took by calling for $800 billion in new tax revenue -- though that proposal was rebuffed by President Obama.

Tea Party-aligned conservative South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint said Tuesday that the House Republicans' plan "will destroy American jobs and allow politicians in Washington to spend even more."

On the House side, Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, said Boehner's proposal was "not a good place to start." Meanwhile, conservative think tanks and advocacy groups like the Heritage Foundation voiced similar skepticism. Still, despite taking heat from his own rank-and-file, Boehner's plan was rejected outright by the White House.

20 real American, conservative House members can insure Boner is not re-elected Speaker.

They should be taking umbrage and reminding Boner that his "power" is quite limited.

Time to borrow Hillary’s FBI file on Bonehead and Cantor.
Looks like the GOP does not have the backbone to vote for new leadership.
If we can’t vote them out, let’s scandal them out.
Hillary will u loan us Boneheads and Cantors FBI file?

House Republicans' plan "will destroy American jobs and allow politicians in Washington to spend even more." "

Nah. What destroys American jobs is exporting them to the world. Bring the jobs home so workers will be making money, paying taxes, buying things, off government funding and voting Republican again like for Reagan and the Bushs.

From my reply of 11/30:

I have already written my congresscritter, Michael McCaul, that they need to depose Boehner. I have come to the conclusion that congressional Republicans need to elect New Gingrich as Speaker of the house.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

The Speaker of the United States House of Representatives (or Speaker of the House) is the presiding officer of the chamber. The office was established in 1789 by Article I, Section 2 of the United States Constitution, which states in part, "The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker..." The current speaker is John Boehner, a Republican who represents Ohio's 8th congressional district. The Constitution does not require that the Speaker be an elected Member of Congress, but no non-member has ever been elected to the office.

Boehner does not give a crap what conservatives think. He was reelected in his district by 99.9 percent....that SUCKS! He will have that job until he either doesn’t want it anymore or he dies. That explains a lot on why he does what he wants and not what the people want. However, I would have to see what the people of his district want because if they want the crap he is giving then I guess he is doing his job......SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

This is why I no longer send any money to the Republican party. I no longer feel like I have a party that votes for me.

Well, I tend to think that Obama would be content to go over the fiscal cliff and then blame it on the GOP. It would give him an excuse for the continued lousy economy, etc. In that light, Boehner *might* be making a smart political movie. Offer up a plan that seems moderate and compromising, and let Obama be the heavy for a change.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that Boehner is really trying to push the plan through, and is about to get sandbagged by Obama again, but I like the first idea better. :-)

In the next Congress, less than 20 House Reps could go with the ‘rats to dump Boner. He needs to know that his office is at risk.

It’s hard to defeat him when no one will run against him.

My tea party group is in his district, and every month some from our group meet with his reps at his “open door” meetings. They give them an ear full every time, but it rolls off them like water off a duck. One of his reps spoke to our group last year, and a more arrogant condescending fellow you have never met.

There is a movement afoot to find a challenger for him, but it will be an uphill battle. Do not think that his constituents are pleased with his performance, because it isn’t so.

I have not donated to the GOP in several years but would max out donating to a good Conservative to primary bonehead out. Hell I would do it two years in a row.

Christmas wish list: when the House convenes in Jan, may they vote Alan West as speaker.

Heck, I'd even take Paul Ryan.
