So, they try to justify their existence by "branching" out into non-sports news, politics, et. al. just like Hollywood Regressives. The easiest way to do this is to become a Regressive Leftist and so you can get invited to the really cool New York and Washington parties. Don't forget that Bryant Gumbel and Keith Olbermann both started out as sportscasters.

I don’t agree with your general statement about sportscasters in general, but I think you’re right on target when you’re dealing with sportscasters who never played the sports they cover. If people like Keith Olberman and Bob Costas had been athletes in their younger days, they wouldn’t have ended up being such @ssholes now.
