Belarus' authoritarian president, Alexander Lukashenko, has decided to stem an exodus of qualified workers to Russia, starting by banning those who work in wood-processing industries from quitting. Critics have compared the measure to serfdom and warned that it would only deepen the former Soviet republic's economic troubles and fuel protests against Lukashenko.

Obama might like this technique to apply to anyone going Galt in the next few years. Just how far will Obama go in four years - probably further than our worst nightmares.

This is the type of border control that zero has in mind. So if doctors don’t want to work for the 0-care program, they could be forced to do so. If regulation stifles profits and forces companies to go offshore, they will be forced to liquidate instead. Good luck on retiring abroad, either there will be an exit tax or it will be verboten.

She certainly was:

Directive 10-289, a regulatory measure that seizes total control of the entire economy, and orders all existing economic arrangements to be frozen in place. All patents on inventions are to be turned over to the government in the form of Gift Certificates. In addition, to stop people of talent from disappearing, the law forbids anyone from quitting his job.

You could conceivably force me to come to work. There is no way to make me treat patients. Anyone who saw me as a patient at tha t point would not be pleased.

Is Lukashenko bullet proof, or don’t they have rifles there? How about portable 18v chain saws and drills? Forks? Do the Belarusians know how to stab dictators in the eyeballs with forks?

Your question is best answered by just looking around. Do you see millions of freedom lovers marching to Washington, DC to chant anti-Obama slogans? I do not. Why then should Belarusians do that? They are not worse off than we are. In both cases people are not free, but they have food on the table, one way or another. Who is going to risk life and limb (and likely to lose some of them) - and for what? Is there anyone out there who would clearly spell out what you will gain if you do this or that? Stability is very attractive; its appeal can be only overcome by the complete collapse of the old way of living.

I’ll give the same response that I’ve given to others.

In South Carolina, we have two battalions of state-sponsored militias. These are NOT national guard troops.

You can pledge your fortune to create a militia company. Your money will be used to train, arm and pay for that company, just like Colonel Moultrie did back in 1775.

Will you do that?

There you go, buddy. Pledge your fortune. If you can’t do that, come on down and join a battalion.
