Congress votes to strike ‘lunatic’ from federal law

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/congress-votes-strike-lunatic-federal-law-191704327—election.html

Washington doesn’t like “lunatics,” but it seems fine with “idiots.”

The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a Senate-passed bill striking the word “lunatic” from federal law, without removing a nearby reference to “idiot.” The vote sends the legislation to President Barack Obama to be signed into law, removing what advocates consider an outdated, offensive term for mental illness from the United States Code.

The legislation, crafted by Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad and Republican Sen. Mike Crapo, sailed through the House on a 398-1 vote. The lone dissenter was Republican Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert. Thirty-two lawmakers did not vote. The bill had won unanimous approval in the Senate in May.

...

We lost folks. The Three Stooges may have to change their name too at this rate .. umm,, how about The Three Republicans? ;-]

Congressional aides, who asked not to be identified...

Monotonous, typical Yahoo propaganda.

So give in to Obama today in order to tell themselves they will be in a stronger bargaining position next year. The DEA needs to pay Corker a visit. Everything is going to be the GOP/s fault anyway. Why not exhibit some courage and stand their ground...

So if Repubs raise taxes on the “rich,” everyone, including the media, will automatically begin to love them?

Republicans weigh swallowing tax hike on the wealthy

Ironically, I am weighing whether I will ever vote for a Republican again.

Republican Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee told reporters that his fellow Republicans are beginning to see a possible upside to giving in to Obama on tax rates so the party can then try to gain the upper hand in subsequent negotiations - maybe next year - to make savings in expensive "entitlement" programs such as Medicare healthcare for the elderly.

Hmmm... So, then the Republicans can take a hit for both raising taxes AND pushing grandma off a cliff.
Wow, what a deal!

Ho Hum.

I see the GOP (Gutless Outmaneuvered Party) is still folding it's winning hands.

What else is new I should care about?

There’s an Uncle Remus Tar Baby story somewhere in this whole sordid mess.

Or a Roadrunner/Wiley Coyote cartoon.

Or a Casino Royale Texas Hold ‘em scene.

Or something.

Just take the darned thing over the cliff already! We’re ready out here!

All of this distruction would not be happening if the republicans had done something about voter fraud in 2001. This last election was a farce and every democrat, AND republican, in congress knows it. I’d bet that many obama worshippers/voters would admit it was fraud. But not one republican office holder, even state and local, will say anything about it.
