Hey Chip. Isn’t FEMA funded by taxpayer money? Then they better damn well go in there and solve some problems the right way. I do suspect FEMA was not set up to help.

I remember the first time I heard of FEMA. It was the Northridge earthquake and they became famous for writing checks -- big checks -- checks to people who had $50,000 damage but were getting checks for a quarter million dollars. That made them popular and famous and put them on the map.

Those days are gone.

FEMA is now a self-serving bureaucracy that commits little of its own resources but acts as the conduit for the resources of others.
