In the shadowy world of electronic surveillance, tactics used by law enforcement agencies are rarely revealed. But now an international protocol about how to best monitor and track people online has been disclosed for the first time—offering a unique insight into covert police methodology.

Buried in a recent 158-page U.N. report on how terrorists use the Internet is the so-called “protocol of a systematic approach.” The protocol, which was authored by an elite Italian special operations unit called the Raggruppamento, is significant because it has been implemented by authorities across the world, according to the United Nations.

If you need the report download from the link in the article -- or I can post it on my website...I don't think they will track you...or maybe they will...

It's always nice to know that the UN wants to expose the ways Law Enforcement officials conduct business -- so the underworld can come up with counters...

Thanks UN!

Anything that can be used to track criminals surreptitiously can be used to track law-abiding citizens as well, so I don’t really have an issue with this revelation.

For effective evasion of law enforcement in organized crime I don’t think you can do better than the TV series “Moonshiners” ,, a very entertaining and informative show.. you might even learn a new trade. Since it’s TV they didn’t actually distill any shine but the people in the show HAVE been in the business and do put quite a bit of informative detail into the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=JEIGDp2prdo&NR=1

You mean like a former community newspaper around these parts which, every time they covered a burglary, produced a story that was a virtual burglary “how to” guide.

The uncontrollable impulse to control and survey the Internet by governments, corporations, and other groups, is eventually insuring that it will be destroyed in the long run.

They have reached the collective conclusion that the liberty to communicate freely must be stopped at all costs, as it is a threat to their ability to control others.

Paradoxically, the Internet also has potential to be the most powerful tool ever devised for taxation and micromanagement, so they do not want to destroy it outright, even though they are. Instead they want all people to have no choice but to use it.

You said it all right here, “They have reached the COLLECTIVE conclusion that the liberty to communicate freely must be stopped at all costs...”

At least those of us that pay attention won’t be blind sided - and hopefully will endure.

You and your family have a Merry Christmas and Safe New Years!
