Cheney Takes Flamethrower To Obama
Former Vice President Dick Cheney was honored tonight at the Hudson Institutes 2012 Herman Khan Award Dinner at the Pierre Hotel in New York City. Cheney was introduced by Lewis Scooter Libby, who spoke in detail about Cheneys life and accomplishments, joking about how Cheney twice flunked out of Yale, and joking about Cheneys hunting incident. In his remarks Cheney was harshly critical of President Obama and the administrations policy in the Mideast. He said hes very, very concerned about what he sees developing day by day. He detailed the history of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, and what has been done to fight terror and said the Middle East is a very, very dangerous part of the world.
He said that when he hears our president announce that we got Bin Laden and we can pivot to Asia he is on the one hand appalled and on the other hand fears for future developments. Cheney said that that entire part of the world appears to be moving in a direction fundamentally hostile to U.S. interests, and that the U.S. is increasingly unable to influence events in that part of the world, seemingly because were headed for the exit. He was critical of reductions in Afghanistan, and mentioned President Obamas trip to Cairo where he apologized for the U.S. reaction after 9/11. Cheney referenced the serious economic problems in the U.S but said he is concerned about the Middle East.

I think that from 2001 to 2009 it should have been Cheney in the White House and Bush still in Texas.
Don't try this at home.
Cheney is so uninformed. These folks are our friends.
I doubt the Zero would have stood a chance if Bush had picked another candidate for his second term.
Obama’s only task is the destruction of the US. And he’s doing it unopposed.
It’s even more pathetic than Eurabia.
My son was at this event and he told me he got to “chat” with Cheney for a couple of minutes. I asked him how Cheney looked - - what with the bad ticker and all - - and he said he looked healthy and good, just the same as he did when he was in office.
Cheney would have been onne of our Best Presidents ever, probably only exceeded by RENALDUS MAXIMUS!
By Comparison, Obama Hussein is shown to be the Punk, Spiteful Fraud and terrorist 10 year old gay boy that he is!
“I think that from 2001 to 2009 it should have been Cheney in the White House and Bush still in Texas.”
I second that. Cheney was twice the man GWB was. For openers, Cheney is smart!
GWB, not so much. Reasonably decent, but dumb! I will never forgive GWB for “giving” the country FUBO.
Go ahead punk, make my day.
You shouldn’t get people’s hopes up with headlines like that.
With "friends" (/sarcasm) like that, who needs enemies?
I LOVE Dick Cheney. Such a breath of fresh air.
I loved his debate with Edwards. That was a roast as well.
Oh good grief. Stop drinking the liberal Kool-Aid, would you?
GWB was and is many things, but dumb is not one of them. He was absolutely wrong about some things, some important things, but that doesn't make him dumb. The "Republican X is dumb" mantra is pure Democrat propaganda, so please don't parrot it.
Wrong does NOT equal dumb.
President Bush didn't "give" us Obama. The idiots who voted for him and the criminals who committed voter fraud are responsible for Obama. Imho.
I wish Cheney were healthy enough to run for President.
He has a wonderful daughter Liz, who might just do that.
That makes two of us.
You’re right! She’s a chip off the old block, so to speak. :)
Dick Cheney rocks. He is deserving of his own Vice-Presidential Library.
He has a wonderful daughter Liz, who might just do that.
Yeah, my reaction was “oh, figuratively.”
Amen to that.
My dream ticket has always been Cheney-Rumsfeld! Talk about sleeping well at night.
You forgot the sardasm tag.
“President Bush didn’t “give” us Obama. The idiots who voted for him and the criminals who committed voter fraud are responsible for Obama. Imho.”
Oh Please! And just why do you think the idiots voted for FUBO? Bush was asleep at the switch and the economy tanked on his watch. And you don’t think the idiots noticed? Come on! Bush was a one-issue president, the “War on Terror!” And he dicked around with a strategy that wasn’t working for way too long. Then there was the flight to the A/C Carrier and the “mission accomplished” banner and all, which was followed by six more years of fighting and dying. Hey, I voted for him twice, but only because the alternatives were horrible. Face it, we have not had a real president since Ronald Reagan. We are all upset at FUBO’s profligate spending, well Bush is right behind him on the spending ladder.
“Wrong does NOT equal dumb.”
Well, when you are wrong most of the time, in my book, you are not very smart.
I am not a Democrat “Propagandist,” just a person who calls them the way he sees them. Bush stayed with a failed policy in Iraq and Afghanistan too long, and as a consequence, we lost our precious fighting men and women needlessly, along with pissing away money at a rate only now surpassed by Obama. But the biggest mess was the financial crisis, which he should have seen coming, ( probably did, but too late). He should have taken action on Fannie and Freddie, because he well knew what was happening there, but he didn’t. And with all this, you are quibbling about the man’s I.Q?
What failed policy is that? And, more to the point, what do you assert that he should have done?
...along with pissing away money at a rate only now surpassed by Obama.
This article does a good job of explaining the actual spending facts. In a closer analysis, W scores pretty well compared to other presidents. TARP did him in for spending, and we all agree that he was flat wrong on that. Still too many Keynesian consultants floating around, and W listened to them.
TARP made W look really bad and the repayments made Obambi look much better. It distorts the actual policies of both presidents, IMO.
But the biggest mess was the financial crisis, which he should have seen coming, ( probably did, but too late). He should have taken action on Fannie and Freddie...
On that we agree. However, the actual blame for the crisis lies squarely on Democrat shoulders. They are the ones who pushed for legislation tying lenders' hands so they were forced to lend to those who had no business holding a mortgage. That's the root of the failure, and Bush had nothing to do with that, and his bad response was due to his following bad advice. He should have never listened to more useless Keynesian nonsense.
And with all this, you are quibbling about the mans I.Q?
Hey, you started it, Bub. Be more precise with your words. As I said before, there are some areas where Bush was flat-out WRONG. But the man is not stupid.
