Suicide over something like this is a bit drastic and dramatic. Must be a cultural thing, I guess.
I place the blame squarely on those two jerks who pulled this stunt. You take your victim/plaintif/sucker as you find them. Her reaction in no way diminishes their personal misconduct.
They’re “very sorry.” Sorry, it doesn’t sound like it to me, from what they said. They should be sorry, for the rest of their misbegotten lives.
Tragic, but boring. A boring tragedy. Can we at least throw in some fantastical conspiracy theories?
You can’t blame the DJs. It is not remotely normal or predictable for somebody to commit suicide over a prank call. Its possible that she was facing demotion/punishment for being careless with regards to the “royalty,” but how could the DJs have imagined this happening.
I'm sure Kate and William are devastated.
Everyone and their royal-worshipping mother knew she was in that hospital and what she was there for.
The fuss over this prank call was beyond ridiculous.
Very sad. RIP
This is just horrible. I wonder if the hospital did chew her out, thinking that the royal fmily would no longer have them as “hospital of choice.” Shame on the hospital administrators if so.no one prepped this woman; she just answered the phone and did her best.
I’d think just taking that call and being fooled wouldn’t cause such shame, but being told she might ruin the hospital’s reputation could. She was probably a very conscientious worker. I hope someone talks about what the hospital may have said.
I don’t think you can say that “this was just a prank call”. It was recorded, played on a major radio station and made international headlines.
The radio jerks made it worse with their BS “apology”.
I can’t see suicide over something so minor. Makes no sense. And while the DJs in question are moronic like most these days. I don’t see them as responsible that she was so unstable.
I would have thought an Australian could do a better English accent.
