Saving the planet isn’t easy — or cheap —especially in California. The state’s anti-global-warming cap-and-trade program is the latest gimmick to leave it with yet another big hole to fill in its budget.
The Golden State’s new carbon-trading program is the world’s second largest, after the European Union’s. The stated goal is to cut greenhouse-gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020 and another 80 percent by 2050.
But California held its very first “carbon credit” auction last month — and it was a big disappointment.
Under cap-and-trade, regulators set a limit on how much carbon dioxide a business or utility may release into the atmosphere. (Yes, the government now considers CO2, the same gas you and I release every time we exhale, a pollutant it can regulate.)

It will never work because it’s based on a complete FRAUD. Cap and Trade was a failure in Europe. What do the socialist democrat morons do. They copy it. They jury rigged the whole CLIMATE CHANGE thing from the AGW/IPCC CO2 scam to submitting false information to the Supreme Court to have them declare CO2 a pollutant. All to scam american businesses into coughing up more cash for their DERANGED REDISTRIBUTION FANTASY. For more recent proof listen to the UN HEAD declaring the Industrial companies must pay for their HALLUCINATION OF THE COMING CLIMATE CHANGE DISASTER.
Just to recoup the building costs (not including the operating costs) if the fares were $10 each way, everyone on the planet would have to take at least one ride on the Slow-Boat-to-Fresno "bullet train". With 30 Million People in California, everyone in California would have to take the train 227 times. That would mean that everyone in California would have to ride the train 3-4 times a year for their entire adult lifetimes just to recover the building costs.
But the fact is that probably the only people who will ride the train are the train employees and State workers on official business and California will have to pay them to take the ride.
They are moving to AZ and bringing their idiot ideas with them. I work with a UCSF grad from Fresno. You would think an anesthesiologist would get the whole idea of expanding the base and improving things for everyone.
He’s probably sniffed too much of his own gas.
You can’t be seriously objecting. I’ve already planned to ride your bullet train and have purchased my ticket ahead of time.
Who wouldn’t want to ride a 60+ billion boondoggle!

The increased carbon footprint of all the illegal aliens, if removed would probably meet the Carbon reduction goals of the state.
