In a way, it’s worse. Because the editorial side of the house is bemoaning this kind of thing even more than we are lambasting it. By and large, the edits DESPISE the publishing and business people. The edits lives in a state of perpetual hatred and jealousy, even for their own business side. So, you can easily imagine how they feel about the rest of the capitalist world.

I know all this because I used to work there. In a way, the place is a MODEL for how an elitist Marxist police state operates—the edits being the Bolsheviks and their apparatchik, and the business side being the industrialists and kulaks there only to be enslaved.

And by the way, if a stray edit is caught exchanging even a perfuctory pleasantry with a publishing sider, well, he risks being purged. I’d know about that too.
