"That particular caliber is very popular in Mexico"....Meatpacking. Possibly a Mexican involved somehow.Maybe they are Fast and Furious ribs and they can wrap this case up.

That is exactly what I think he was considering.

Could be a great marketing idea! Like a toy in a cereal box, a different gun with every rack of ribs.
Would make me a recurring rib eater for sure !!!

“I’d be concerned about the origin of those ribs!”

There is only one DISTURBING element of this story, which seems missed by all:
“A police report shows that the meat came from the Swift Packing Plant in Greeley, Colorado, and is marked with the date June 8, 2011.”
Who the hell is selling 18 month old meat for public consumption???

OK FReepers: Question ... if you find a handgun or a rifle are you required to report it or is that a finders-keepers scenario?
Is it any different than any other valuable object that you find?

You would probably not want to keep it since if it had ever been used in a crime the ballistics could be traceable to the gun and you as the owner if you ever used it for some reason — and then you would have some real splainin’ to do.
To: Uncle Chip
I would 'splain that I found it in a package of frozen ribs I bought at the Albertson's in Roswell, NM.
Maybe it was planted by an alien.
