This does not sound like a good shoot to me. Legal, maybe, as in TX I think you can use deadly force to protect property (which I support) but shooting in a Wal-mart parking lot? Not a good idea.
I believe one of the other shoplifters was charged with assaulting the officer when they were leaving the store — that ratchets things up to a higher level than just theft, which is probably why he drew his gun in the first place.
Walmart has cameras all over their parking lots, so maybe we’ll actually get to see if there is a reason the deputy believed he might be hit or run over by the shoplifters car.
