Its tough to assume a leadership position and not endure flack,just a necessary par of the job. Your words of wisdom are so strong,so direct, so to the point, few will argue. The few who will however will be outraged to the point of fleeing any mirror that shows who they really are.
Unfortunately, many Republicans think that the correct path to achieve agreement with liberals,which is impossible on the face of it,is appeasement. It never is. We never learn.
RG, most of the flak was about to come from our politicians who had already caved to the paper. I had just won some elections and found by the data the paper didn’t matter and all they had to do is say no comment and it would have been over. Rather they were going to start giving moral outrage speeches and demand I resign.
I also heard the Country Club had already begun a recall election the day I was elected. I had a choice of clinging to a job that was going to give me 14 hour days and have these leaked to the paper or resign and pull the rug out from under them. I pulled the rug.
