A little-used law that cracks down on “pretend witchcraft” remains in force more than a century after its enactment, but cities across Canada are still crawling with sham conjurers, fake sorcerers and fraudulent psychics.
“I think the rarity of the charge comes down to the rarity of people coming forward,” said Detective Constable James Turnbull of Toronto police. “You’re trying to explain to people that they’ve been victimized and they don’t believe you; they believe the guy’s power is real.”
Last week, his division charged self-described “healer” Gustavo Gomez under Section 365 of the Criminal Code, an archaic law that targets “everyone who fraudulently … pretends to exercise or to use any kind of witchcraft, sorcery, enchantment or conjuration.”

One piece I remember is what was probably an otherwise normal [Canadian] guy making a fool of himself calling Miss Cleo's "Psychic Line" trying to get through directly to her, and running up big phone charges in the process.
Probably the assault on true spirituality is responsible for people falling for those quacks, along with the political/LSM industrial complex blurring the line between entertainment and reality.
This is how you end up when you don’t have enough good sex in a good relationship. You end up like this or living alone in a tiny house with fifty cats.
Real witches, sorcerers, and conjurers have nothing to fear.
These sham schemers certainly do get the real schemers PO’d.
It is worse than you think. They also have experts who make economic predictions. A very evil type of psychic.
