HBO host Bill Maher’s political views– and his crass way of expressing them– are well known to most. Every once in a while, though, he takes things a step further than normal.
The mega Obama donor claimed back in March, for instance, that he should be held to a different standard after calling Sarah Palin a “____” than when Rush Limbaugh called 30-year-old Georgetown student Sandra Fluke a “slut.” On Sunday, Maher made another noteworthy claim.
Apparently Andy Williams, the iconic singer of some of the most-loved tunes in history, is to be remembered as a “teabag idiot.”
And of course we take the bait.
I’d just like him banished to live in North Korea. Apparently, that would make him supremely happy.

A vulgar insult from Bill Maher remains one of the absolute best indicators of the integrity and uprightness of his target.
You never hear about the Bill Maher’s of yesteryear....

I don’t get it. Williams was a big supporter of Bobby Kennedy. Did he change his politics later in life?
I had one of my professors in college a month ago try to explain to me that Bill Maher was a conservative Republican.
My response was: Professor, you are somewhere to the left of Marx and Lenin if you believe that Bill Maher is a conservative.
I could not believe that a PhD. could be that clueless.
I must say however, this professor has helped tremendously with my writing ability.
Andy Williams was always a Republican. He was also a good friend of Robert Kennedy. Kennedy knew Williams was a Republican and didn’t care. I think Williams was with Kennedy the night he was shot.

I’ve lived long enough to see people like Dunghead get their just rewards 40 years later. In spades. I had never heard anything about Andy Williams politics (I do remember him singing at Robert Kennedy’s funeral and almost choking-up).
So thanks Maher, you are almost a perfect reverse barometer. Anyone you criticize I can almost immediately assume is one of the good guys.

He's a "total immersion" comedian. Most comedians just tell jokes. He actually becomes one.
He’s a very sad, sick man and totally third-rate in what he does for a living.
The idea of him taking a white-hot fire-poker up the poo-flue by wrathful demons every day for eternity makes me feel all kinda warm and fuzzy inside. Hell makes sense when you see guys like Maher.

The left seems like a bunch of people who want to be beaten down. It is a strange psychological disorder that can be witnessed with the Islamist, professional victims and a lot of blacks.
I see it often with workers who seem to want to be fired by pushing buttons and the limits. It can be seen with criminals who do stupid things that seem to show they want to be caught.

Ironically, our PBS station is the only network that has the reruns of the classy Andy Williams Christmas specials. Wonder what idiot Maher would have to say about that.
